-Junior Model United Nations Club-
The Junior Model United Nations Club teaches students about international relations, global issues, and cultural diplomacy. During the course of the year, students will work in small groups assigned to represent both a country delegation and one of two committee topics. Each student will be responsible for researching and writing a short position paper from the perspective of his/her assigned country delegation as well as drafting a final resolution recommending solutions to key issues within his or her assigned committee. The 2016-17 committee topics are: (1)  Climate Change and (2)  Protecting and Preserving Cultural Heritage . An initial meeting was held Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Meeting times may vary this year, and will likely be held on Thursday afternoons from 2:40 until 3:30 p.m. Friday morning meetings, which will begin at 7:00 a.m., may occasionally be scheduled this year, as well. All meetings and scheduled events will be announced through the Junior Model United Nations Schoology Group, which interested students will be invited to join; and all meetings will be held in room 211.
