The Discovery Of A Masterpiece

Mallory Mortillaro serves as the Curator of Collections for the Hartley Dodge Foundation in Madison, New Jersey. While cataloging the artwork housed inside of the Hartley Dodge Memorial, she uncovered a masterpiece that had been lost to the art world since the 1930’s. After a year of research, the piece was authenticated as an official work by Auguste Rodin.

Mallory will share the story of how a simple art cataloging project evolved into a search for a mysterious piece’s provenance, and became one of the biggest art finds in recent history. Mallory's story was chronicled in the New York Times, Smithsonian Magazine, and Architectural Digest.

Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt -- Two Halves Of A Whole

Explore the relationship of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, one of America's foremost "Power Couples" as it transitions from a secret engagement, to a marriage in crisis, to a powerful political partnership. The Roosevelts were married in March of 1905. Led by Jeffrey Urbin, Education Specialist at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum.

Who Done It? Mystery Book Group

Thursday, March 17th - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - Now meeting in the 1910 Building Annex, 381 Main St, West Newbury

Are you a Mystery fan? Ready to find out who done it?

Join this lively group and tackle a new kind of mystery each month. We begin at the beginning and read the first book in a series. G.A.R. Book Group

West Newbury Garden Club offers scholarship.

Due to the wonderful community support of the Club's Spring 2021 Plant Sale, the West Newbury Garden Club is excited to offer two $3000 scholarships to students who will be in college during school year 2022-23 and who will study or plan to study a field related to the environment. Students need to reside in West Newbury, Groveland, or Merrimac. They may attend public or private high schools or colleges.
