Techbridge West Oakland presents ideas to the Port
Mar. 29, 2017

Techbridge West Oakland students presented their ideas to help the Port of Oakland prevent trash from entering the San Francisco Bay to a panel of judges. The middle school students came up with innovative ideas: a drone that would help volunteers locate areas impacted by trash, a microfiber cloth to prevent trash from entering the bay, and slogans to encourage the public to keep trash out of the bay.

The students had previously visited the  Port's Middle Harbor Shoreline Park and learned from a naturalist and environmental scientist about how trash threatens wetlands adjoining Port waterways.
