I believe that we all pray a great deal more than we think we do. Whenever we're holding a vision in mind of peace and wholeness, for ourselves or others, we are praying. And it seems quite clear that it's God who inspires the vision. Prayer starts with God, is guided by God, and is answered by God. So what's ours to do? The "heart of healing" is the theme of this year's World Day of Prayer, which we gathered to honor on Sept. 13. What is at the heart of healing? We all get lessons in it, certainly, as we deal with our challenges, wounds, and injuries—from a scraped knee to the deepest grief. So, what have we learned? How does healing come, and what's our role in it?
