Action Needed:

Sign the Petition to Protect Hays County’s Water Future - Support SB 2660

Friends of the Watershed,

Western Hays County is facing a water crisis. Declining well levels, drying springs like Jacob’s Well, and unchecked growth threaten our most precious resource.

SB 2660 is our chance to fix this, but we need your help!

What’s at Stake?

The Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District (HTGCD) currently lacks the tools and funding needed to protect our aquifer. SB 2660 levels the playing field, aligning western Hays County with other Texas groundwater districts to ensure sustainable, science-based water management.

✅ Protects household & agricultural wells – No new taxes, meters, or fees.

✅ Applies fair production fees – Only to large commercial wells, at rates already used in eastern Hays County.

✅ Funds responsible water management – Supporting local oversight and sustainable aquifer use.

How You Can Help:

  • Sign & Share the Petition – Let the Texas Legislature know we demand fair water management.

  • Email Your Representatives – Urge them to support SB 2660

-- Sen. Donna Campbell: donna.campbell@senate.texas.gov

-- Rep. Carrie Isaac: carrie.isaac@house.texas.gov

-- Rep. Erin Zwiener: erin.zwiener@house.texas.gov

-- Sen. Charles Perry (Bill Author) – Send a thank-you for filing SB 2660!

Why This Matters:

Without action, Hays County landowners will continue to see falling water levels while corporate water extraction goes unchecked. SB 2660 ensures equal protection and responsible stewardship for all residents.

Take action now! Sign the petition and spread the word.
