New Electrical Code Enforcement Delayed Until October 29, 2020

The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) has adopted changes ( CR-103) to the state’s electrical rules that will amend new safety codes, update and clarify existing rules, and make housekeeping and other rule changes. The changes affect “ chapter 296-46B WAC Electrical Safety Standards, Administration, and Installation.” Due to the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, L&I will move the effective date of the new rules and the 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC) to October 29, 2020.

2018 Energy Code Update Webinar

The effective date of the 2018 Washington State Energy Code was recently postponed to November 1, 2020. CWHBA and Washington State University is hosting a two-hour live online new code requirement update for CWHBA members.

This training is designed for building department staff, builders, sub-contractors, architects, homeowners, and other building industry professionals. The training will include a question and answer session.
