A Weekly Newsletter from Pine Street Church
A Word from Andrew... Join us for Live Zoom Worship Service Today at 10am...
Dear Pine Street Church Members and Friends,

Our previously planned outdoor worship for today has been postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast. We will announce a makeup date as soon as it's scheduled.

Instead, today we'll gather virtually at 10am for a Special Hybrid Edition Zoom Service with a live sermon as well as a live Pine Street Church Band!

Today's message will focus on two healing stories from the Gospel of St. Mark (5: 21-43). One about a young daughter who is fatally ill and another woman who suffered a 12-year illness. We have all been desperate for healing and wholeness when our backs have been against the wall---some illness, diagnosis, delicate surgery, a chronic condition, the death of someone we dearly love, or a painful loss in our own stories.

One theme of these Gospel stories today is, "Just when you think it's over, it's not." Put a different way by the great spiritual author, Frederic Buechner, "The secret that we share I cannot tell in full. But this much I will tell. What's lost is nothing to what's found, and all the death that ever was, set next to life, would scarcely fill a cup.”

Join in for worship this morning at 10am for hope, inspiration, comfort, and healing.

With heart,

Now What?! -
Art and Our Next Chapter

Now that more and more activities and opportunities are opening up to us, what is our next move? Over the next 6 months? The next year? The next 5 years? What do we want to experience, achieve, acquire? What impact do we want to make? What relationships do we want to cultivate or mend?

Inspired by some of the amazing art I’ve recently seen, I would like to present ideas and resources that may help us turn the next page in our lives, gain clarity about opportunities, and expand our legacy for our friends, family, and community.

This Sunday, I will focus on the work of the extraordinary English painter J.M.W. Turner. His powerful works will provide the first clues to our next chapter in life.

This will be pre-recorded and the video link will be sent out Sunday morning some time before 9:00 AM MST. Email if you're not already on the WaMa mailing list.

Please have pen and paper handy. I know many of you will want to write down various ideas stimulated by the presentation.

God's desire for us is our wholeness; the Hebrew Scriptures call this shalom. This wholeness incorporates our physical, mental, emotional, and relational being.

We remember with gratitude the gift of Pete's life, and we remember his beloved June and all the family during these days of both celebration and grief. A memorial service will be planned for September and an obituary will also be sent to our church family as soon as it is available.
