CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF ROUTE 66

End of the Trail: Route 66 Through California: Photographer Michael Graves follows the final miles of the Mother Road at its 100th anniversary, tracing the route from Needles at the California border through desert towns, inland corridors, and Los Angeles neighborhoods to the Pacific at the Santa Monica Pier. Created over a decade, these black-and-white photographs document motels, weathered signs, abandoned buildings, bridges, and the painted “66” shield. Spanning this entire California passage, the work preserves the physical remnants of Route 66 after one hundred years, where the road completes its westward journey.

Urge Congress to Support National Historic Trail Designation for Route 66

Designating Route 66 as a National Historic Trail will have a significant economic impact in the eight states along the iconic route and appropriately recognize the historic roadway during its centennial celebration in 2026. This designation would help spur critical preservation efforts in the hundreds of communities that call it home, and most importantly, it will help preserve Route 66 as a vital, iconic, and evolving piece of Americana for generations to come.

Contact your members of Congress and ask them to support the bill (H.R. 5470 and S. 2887) designating the Route 66 National Historic Trail and help ensure its passage this year.

The Treasury of Claremont Music Concert takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the historic Garner House in Memorial Park. This event is a celebration of Claremont's musical legacy, for community members to come
