Dear Viewer,

The Lenten Season has begun! Thank you to all who joined us at our Ash Wednesday service this week, and thank you to the Creative Worship Team who made this special service happen. Another "thank you" to Skip Chasey, who taught us how to create our own ashes at home!

I want to thank Ken An for his faithfulness in creating the PowerPoint each week for the last several years for each Sunday's service. Ken is taking a break from this ministry, and Camille Araullo will take on this ministry. God bless you both for your dedication!

The theme for Lent this year is, Resilience. Each week, we will concentrate on this one word, along with some supportive words. For Ash Wednesday, the word was Rest. This Sunday, the word will be Remember! I hope you will join us for worship each week, and during this season of Lent, let's see how resilient we truly are as God's people. If you'd like to read ahead, check out I Peter 3:18-22 (Message) and Mark 1:12-15 (Message).

God bless.

Pastor Keith

A Prayer for Transition - First Sunday of Lent

God of love and mercy, grant us grace for the journey
As we travel through Lent, from celebration to reflection.
From crowding to sparsity; from comfort to uncertainty.
In the midst of global lockdowns, renewed borders, uncertain boundaries
Meet us, that our fears may transform to hopefulness
And our anxieties to anticipation.
Like the ancient ones, commune with us in the shadows
In the dusk and the dawn affirm your presence and reveal your glory.
For renewed ministries; revived ministries; newly commissioned ministries may your blessings stream.
For retired ministries; completed ministries; furloughed ministries may your grace and comfort abound
And may your blessing stay. While our loss is absorbed; our grief consoled; our weakness strengthened.
Till our mornings break out into joy.
