Exciting news πŸŽ‰
The Hardware Specifier (HWS) now includes the Hardware Description Labels and Install Guide links as part of the export functionality.

  • This is to ensure that when the file is sent to the customer that all the required details have been provided for them to successfully perform their installation
  • This will also remove the manual steps required to send this information separately while also reducing the need for customers to call into support looking for instructions
Reminder: Please ensure you continue to send this file to the customer

Issue πŸ‘Ž
Enhancement πŸ‘
Usability improvement: Users have multiple clicks to navigate from HWS to Tableau to check available inventory levels.
A convenient link has been embedded into the Hardware Specifier landing page to quickly navigate users directly to the Inventory Dashboard.
When multiple vehicles are checked for ECM compatibility with the VDD, the hardware specifier would not individually identify which vehicle was shown for compatibility.
We have added in an extra column to display this to users to allow them to know which vehicle will be VDD ECM compatible at the point of order.
All Fords-F150s were previously not considered VDD ECM Compatible.
Based on continuous incremental firmware (FW) improvements to the VDD we have now updated the rulesets in line with this. This will make 15% Ford vehicles now ECM compatible for VDD.
A ruleset change has been corrected for Peterbilts.
The US and CA rulesets have now been updated to recommend a 9 Pin threaded (1100000331) for Peterbilt models between 2003-2015.
Further changes coming
  • Further improvements to the export file to provide aid to the customer in what they have received and the next steps. See below prototype of what is coming soon:
  • We are moving the Material ID Cheat sheet into the Hardware Specifier to continue to make the HWS the single stop shop for Hardware Selection
  • We'll be adding rule changes for Video KP2 camera connectors under Vehicle Tracking Subscription to simplify the installation experience
  • OBDII Connector will be available for Light Commercial or private vehicles
  • 9-Pin Connector will be available for use in Heavy Duty vehicles
