Cayuse is Coming

The UNLV Division of Research is excited to announce the forthcoming launch of Cayuse for the office of sponsored programs and the office of research integrity.

The advantages of Cayuse are many, including the ability to streamline the submission of grant and award materials as well as compliance protocols. Through its use of “smart form” technology, this all-in-one suite of web-based software will provide more targeted protocol and proposal development for investigators relevant to a particular submission. UNLV research administrators will be able to more quickly access records, protocols, and proposals between and among offices, thereby reducing administrative time.

Cayuse will launch this semester starting Sept. 7

Training is open to all UNLV investigators and will be held 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Aug. 25-26, Sept. 2-3, and Sept. 16-17 in Science and Engineering Building room 2251. Pre-registration is required. Please visit Cayuse IRB Training to reserve a spot. For registration questions, please contact Cindy Lee. We will also provide live streaming via WebEx and will record these sessions for later viewing for those unable to attend in-person. Other training materials will be hosted and available on the ORI-Human Subjects website. Workshops for colleges and departments can also be scheduled by contacting Dax Miller.
*Revised*

The Office of Sponsored Programs will launch Cayuse for all proposal submissions and award management in, Spring 2022 semester. OSP is still training in the Cayuse Sponsored Projects (SP).  The Cayuse SP will manage proposal and award records.  PIs and proposal approvers will be able to approve proposals quickly from their own computers and award records will be easily accessible online.

Some other benefits of this new software include:
  • Auto-fill features and easy to use forms
  • Online access to all your proposals and awards
  • Electronic proposal routing

Once the OSP software is fully implemented, we will then announce training sessions for faculty, staff, and department administrators.

Please watch for upcoming announcements related to Cayuse training opportunities for sponsored programs.
