*REVISED* OSP Effort Reporting Policy
The Revised Effort Reporting Policy became effective in December 2019 and does apply to the current Effort Certifications that were generated 1/7/2020.

Please be sure to review this policy as it applies to all personnel that are involved with and are paid from a sponsored project(s). It also reflects a more restrictive (28 days) timeframe for completion.
  • Effort directly charged or cost shared to a sponsored project must be certified through the effort reporting process within 28 days of the date effort reports are initially generated in Workday.
  • Effort on sponsored projects is reported as a percentage of total institutional effort during a reporting period.
  • The certification verifies that payroll expenses either directly charged or cost shared to a sponsored project are reasonably accurate in relation the the actual amount of effort spent on activities that benefited project's scope of work.
