Following the valuable feedback we received from our recent newsletter article, 'Managing Claim Submissions for Scaling & Root Planing (SRP),' we have made significant revisions to our radiograph requirements. These changes apply to claims submissions for SRP, are now in effect, and are summarized below:

1. A full mouth series of radiographs or periapical and bitewing radiographs of good diagnostic quality, clearly showing all teeth in the quadrant(s) being treated.

  • Previously, we required radiographs to be within 12 months. The 12-month date of the radiograph(s) is no longer a requirement as long as the radiograph(s) are diagnostic and represent the patient’s current condition.

2. Periodontal charting that includes details on probing depths and clinical attachment loss.

  • We continue to require periodontal charting within 12 months.

Here is a link to this above-referenced newsletter, which has been edited to reflect the above changes and is available on our website.

We will continue to look for ways to improve our processes and find opportunities to improve our communication. We hope you will continue to send us your feedback at ideas@deltadentalva.com to strengthen our partnership. Thank you for your network participation!
