Tisha B'Av commemorates the destruction of the ancient

Holy Temples in Jerusalem, but it's much more than that. It's a

traditional fast day that provides an opportunity to mourn and

lament the brokenness and grief in our world.

   PART TIME - RELIGIOUS SCHOOL CO-DIRECTORS 

       SEASIDE JEWISH COMMUNITY 


Seaside is seeking Co-Directors for our weekly Sunday morning Religious School. The 2025-2026 school season is September – May, 9am – 12pm, (Kindergarten to 6th grade), and our once-a-month Pre-K "Menschkins" class. Seaside offers a dynamic program featuring music, art, and Jewish learning. Co-Directors may share workload, coverage and school oversight among themselves as fits their experience, expertise and the best interests of the Religious School program. These are paid positions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance our existing engaging curriculum
  • Supervise and coordinate with volunteer teachers & aides
  • Manage school calendar & budget
  • Plan holiday events with Rabbi/Committees
  • Foster strong family engagement


Qualifications:

  • Experience in education administration, Jewish education and basic Hebrew
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A love for children and community

2025 Yizkor Book of Remembrance


The Book of Remembrance is dedicated to the memory of our loved ones who have passed away. By honoring their memory through gifts of tzedakah, our contributions become a living memorial ensuring the continuity and renewal of Jewish life and community. Seaside is again providing a Book of Remembrance during Yizkor Services on Yom Kippur. If you would like to have the name(s) of your loved one(s) included in our Book of Remembrance

We are asking for a donation in the amount of $18 for each name. The deadline for submissions is August 17th.

We are looking for an original piece of artwork for the cover of the

2025 Yizkor Book of Remembrance. Please submit a high-resolution

5:30 - 6:30 (ish) pm: Shabbat B'Que on the patio


7:00 pm: New Member Shabbat Service in the Sanctuary


8:00 pm: A Dessert Oneg will follow the Service

Book Group: Raisins and Almonds by Kerry Greenwood

Part of the Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries series which are set in 1920’s Australia with Phryne Fisher as the “detective” on the case. While a quick, entertaining mystery, it gives insight into Melbourne’s early twentieth-century Jewish community and how the author, a non-Jew, describes Jewish holidays, customs, and history to her audience. Carrie Silberman will lead the discussion.
