Book Group - Sabor Judio: The Jewish Mexican Cookbook

A Zoom-only event sponsored by Seaside, Lewes Public Library, and Browseabout Books.

Although the Jewish community in Mexico numbers only 60,000, they have created a special culture of color and taste. The authors, Ilan Stavans and Margaret E. Boyle, both have family roots in this community. They will be interviewed by Seaside member, Elia Ben David Jimenez, whose family came to Mexico at the time of the Spanish Inquisition (15th century).

For this Zoom you must register on the site of Lewes Public Library.

HAFTARAH FOR M’TZORA - 2 KINGS  7:3-20. ETZ HAYIM p. 675.

Who are the Four Lepers according to tradition? What is the context in which this story is set ? Tradition looks down on the Four Lepers as selfish and villainous, but do you agree? Can we transvalue the Biblical concept of leprosy for today?

Saturday, November 22

Seaside's Got Talent with The Senatones Band

It’s time for the annual Seaside’s Got Talent event! We are calling all artists, authors, photographers, sculptors, paper and glass artists etc. to show and sell their work. This year we are asking each artist to pay a booth, table, or space fee of $30 dollars in place of donating a piece to a silent auction.  We are also asking participating artists to bring a sweet treat to share. The Social Committee will provide the wine and drinks. We will once again be rocking to the music of The Senatones Band playing hits from the 60s on, and featuring our own Seaside members, Larry Krevor and Bryan Silberman! It’s a great time to swing, sip and shop for those Hannukah and holiday presents!

Participating artists should contact Social Committee Chair, Marjorie Norris at mhnorris53@gmail.com to be included in the presenting artists. This event is open to Seaside members and their guests.
