Book Group Event with author

Goyhood by Reuven Fenton

The fictional story of twin brothers raised in Georgia who discover they are Jewish at the age of 12 – one brother becomes a yeshiva student in Brooklyn while the other brother takes a different non-religious path. They reconnect on the event of their mother’s death and set off on a road trip in the South. At times reflective and other times humorous, the novel is a quick, enjoyable read. Reuven Fenton is uniquely qualified to write this book as an Orthodox Jew who works as a reporter for the New York Post. Seaside member Robert Weintraub will conduct the interview.

NOTICES

2026 Mah Jong Cards Now Available to Order

Orders are now being taken for the 2026 National Mah Jong League (NMJL) cards. The prices are the same as last year- $14 for the small card and $15 for the large card.

  • The NMJL will make a donation of $5 per card to an organization for orders over 35 cards. The Community Service Committee has designated "Dignity Grows" as our recipient. This important project provides personal hygiene products to women and girls who can't afford to purchase these necessities.
  • Ask your friends, family, and Mah Jong groups to order their cards through SJC. Full name and address are needed for each card ordered. Ellen Feinberg will be taking orders and payments, please go to the Seaside Directory for her address (you will need to log in) or contact her at: elroberg@aol.com
  • Cards will be mailed directly from the NMJL at the end of March/early April, 2026. The last day to order a card is January 20th.

Community Service Project - Volunteers Needed

The Community Service Committee and it's volunteers will be feeding 100 people during Christmas. We need volunteers to cook and deliver to the shelters. We may also be in need of freezer space for roaster chickens. This is a huge undertaking, if you are able to help in any way, please contact Ruth Osman at Ossie3Ruth@aol.com

Special thanks to Robyn Rosenfeld-Aburrow, Harry K Foundation, Delaware Food Bank, and Giant for donating the food.
