Underwear Collection

Boxers, Bloomers and Briefs: One of the most requested items from people in need is NEW, clean, fresh, new underwear. The DIOPA deacons are organizing an underwear drive as the annual Diocesan Convention outreach program. Next time you are out shopping, consider purchasing an extra package of underwear for someone experiencing need. ANY AND ALL SIZES ARE WELCOME! Donations can be placed in the box in the Parish Hall through October 16.

Staff Update

Rev. Terry is BACK from Traveling!

Rev. Jill asked me to share some of what I (and Joy) did over the summer. I’ve included a few pictures. One of the highlights was attending a couple of performances at the Guthrie Theatre (Raisin in the Sun and a new production of Emma).

We camped at Itasca State Park. Here I am walking across the headwaters of the Mississippi.

We attended several Twins baseball games and enjoyed local beers and hotdogs. Here we are with my daughter and her two boys.

My son let me pilot his boat. Great fun for an “old Navy guy!”

There were plenty of walks and hiking, bike riding, canoeing, barbecuing, trips to the St. Paul Farmers Market on Saturdays, water aerobics during the week, and much more. In addition, Joy attended kick-boxing and read at the University Library. Her summer began with a European cruise with her sister and later on time with her daughter on the Gulf of Mexico. We attended Sunday services at St. John the Apostle. I had only one pulpit supply opportunity.

It seems the summer went by very fast. But it is good to be back in Glen Mills and to get reacquainted with friends and neighbors. I look forward to further assisting Rev. Jill at St. John’s.
