Expanded MTAP Fund Mapping & Municipal Project Support

Securing and managing grants requires clear project development, internal readiness, and effective execution. The Maryland Department of Budget and Management’s Municipal Technical Assistance Program (MTAP) is supporting municipalities through its expanded Fund Mapping service, internal capacity self-assessment, and examples of successful project delivery.

MTAP is expanding its Fund Mapping service to include Project Scoping and Federal Agency Application Reference Guides, helping municipalities refine project ideas, understand application requirements, and prepare stronger federal funding applications.

MTAP has also created the Internal Capacity for Federal Grant Funding Self-Assessment, which helps municipalities evaluate readiness, identify strengths and gaps, and strengthen grant management and compliance.

Additionally, MTAP is highlighting success stories like Westminster’s PUREWater initiative as examples of how strong project development, internal capacity, and strategic funding alignment can help municipalities advance complex infrastructure projects.

To request a Fund Map, please complete the MTAP Fund Mapping intake form here: Fund Mapping Intake Form. To discuss Project Scoping or Federal Agency Application Reference Guides, or to explore which services best fit your needs, contact MTAP directly at arpa.neuadmin@maryland.gov.
