In previous issues we have discussed our permit process that enables us to use the County Schools and Parks facilities. One of the questions we get in our surveys is the need for early registrations.
We wanted to share with you that early registrations enable us to determine approximate number of participants which tell us how many volunteer coaches we need for each sport and each age level. This is a critical piece of what we do as volunteers to get each seasonal sport going. We depend completely on volunteers to coach our children. May people tell us that they don't know how to coach, that is not a problem as we can teach/train you! So please don't let that stop you from volunteering.
The next most critical piece is scheduling. Like needing early numbers to determine teams and coaches, we would love to get permits for fields and gyms a month before we start. Unfortunately we never get our permits from the County until two weeks before our first practices. This is typically why you don't get info until right before the season starts.
