Service Hours (Activity Logs)

For over 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.

While various activities and youth groups teach basic skills and promote teamwork, Scouting goes beyond that, and encourages youth to achieve a deeper appreciation for service to others in their community.

Always remember to log any and all service hours. To help you learn how to log the hours, here is a link to a video that shows you how to enter service hours (Activity logs).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GT4fvG5_5GI

Thank you for your service to our communities!!

Memorial Day Flag Placement

Register HERE!

Saturday, May 25, 2024

The Middle Tennessee Council, Boy Scouts of America invites you to attend the Annual Memorial Day Flag Placement at the National Cemetery in Madison and many more cemeteries throughout Middle TN. This is just one of many ways the Scouts can show their patriotism and citizenship for our Country's Veterans. This tradition was started more than 50 years ago and still continues to grow.

We invite and encourage you to take part in a special day of flag placement come Memorial Day, to honor those who served in our nation's armed services and are now laid to rest. Many of these heroes gave their lives for our freedom while on active duty.

Our veterans, both living and deceased, deserve our utmost respect, and thanks for all they do and have done to make this country what it is today. This is a great way to show that appreciation, so please join us in placing flags on the graves of soldiers who so sacrificially served.

This is an admirable and honorable event that we, as Scouts, are proud to help in any way!

The course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what he/she must KNOW, and what he/she must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO.

Eagle and Volunteer Recognition Reception

Mark your calendar! The Middle Tennessee Council is proud to recognize our 2023 Class of Eagle Scouts at our annual Eagle Scout and Volunteer Recognition Celebration. On April 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Shinn Center at Lipscomb University, we will honor those Scouts who earned the rank of Eagle Scout during the 2023 calendar year. Scouts should wear their field uniform (also known as a Class A uniform) or a suit and tie. For all others, business casual attire is appropriate. For questions, please contact our Eagle registrar, Cheryl Leach, at Cheryl.Leach@scouting.org or by calling the Scout Service Center at 615-383-9724.

This year’s guest speaker is Will Holden, a Vanderbilt University graduate, and a six-year NFL veteran. He was an All-SEC selection during his time with Vanderbilt and was voted as one of the “Top 100 Greatest Commodores of All Time.” After a successful career at Vanderbilt, he was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 5th round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Considered an NFL journeyman, he spent six years with multiple teams, starting in 27 games. Along with an impressive academic journey and professional career, he is also a proud Eagle Scout. He attributes much of his success to the core fundamentals that were learned during his time with Scouts BSA.
