The new Library of Things is a growing collection of non-traditional items that can be checked out the same way as ordinary library media.
Items available for checkout include:
gaming and entertainment consoles, a sewing machine, a microscope, digital conversion hardware, and much more! Be on the lookout for new additions coming soon.

We will be celebrating this milestone during the summer, and as part of our celebration we will be interviewing people who have first-hand memories of this historic event. MUSEUM PASS NEWS
We now have print-at-home passes for these five area museums:
Boston Children's Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art

When you
book these passes online
, you will see an option to print, or email the pass to yourself for printing later. Don't worry if you don't have email or a printer, you can still come in to the library, as always, and we will be happy to print your reserved pass for you. You can still reserve any of our passes by phone or in person, if you prefer.

Summer Reading Kick-Off Party!
Be sure to join us for the start of Summer Reading! We will be kicking things off with an all-day event on
June 25th

and our party will be space-themed with events for all ages (kids, teens, and adults). Get ready to unleash your interplanetary discoverer at our event and all summer long!

Programs for the Summer:
Kids - Beads and Books
Summer reading is back, and it’s better than ever! Sign up anytime starting June 17th through August 16th, 2019. Not only can kids set their own reading goal and earn a book to keep as a prize, but now they can earn all kinds of beads for tracking the amount of time they spend reading - from fuzzy beads to sparkle beads to sports beads and more.
Prizes and beads are generously funded by the Friends of the Belmont Public Library.
Teens - Planetary Patches
Teens, this summer we’re challenging you to not just read, but to listen, write, draw, explore, and more! We have 20 different challenges for you to try and complete, and 20 different iron-on patches you can earn - try for them all, or chose the ones you like best! We will also have scratch tickets for check outs, with candy, cable bites, books and giant gummy worms as prizes!
Adults - Out-of-this-World Experiences
This summer read a book, watch a movie, attend a program, or listen to a CD/audio book and
tell us your opinion!

How to Write Great College Essays with Collegewise

Pizza and Pride

The Beech Street Center is excited to celebrate Gay Pride Month with our first “Pizza and Pride” program. Fenway Health and the LGBT Aging Project located in Boston recently came to the center to provide training to COA staff, other community members and staff from other town departments to help meet the needs of LGBT seniors.
To continue our outreach efforts, we are excited to show a screening of the award-winning film
Gen Silent.
Please join us for a light dinner of pizza and the movie. Make sure to stay afterward for a discussion of the film and share your thoughts and ideas.
This event is open to anyone within the Belmont and surrounding communities. Cost: Free, but donations towards food appreciated.
