REC Club Members Bond Through Garden Cleanup and Fun, Eye Future Adventures Together!

When it came time to clear out the REC Club Garden, our REC Club members were incredibly hard-working and dedicated, quickly cleaning up the summer plants by hand and making impressive progress. It was wonderful to see them communicating, making plans, and working together to "make something beautiful." Afterward, the members enjoyed playing and spending time together, relishing the simple joy of each other's company.

The group also shared their personal interests during discussions about school, video games, and activities, with some even suggesting a future trip to Urban Air Trampoline Adventure Park in Waterbury, CT!

NewSylum Brewing Co. Donates $1,845 to NYFS for Mental Health Awareness Month, and Celebrates the Life of Co-Founder David Kingsley

Newtown Youth and Family Services (NYFS) is deeply grateful to NewSylum Brewing Company for their incredible support during May’s Mental Health Awareness Month, raising $1,845 for NYFS. Through their generosity, NewSylum has now raised over $6,200 for the organization since 2022.

The funds raised through pours during May will go a long way in supporting the mental health needs of youth and families in the Greater Newtown area. This contribution will have a lasting impact on those the agency serves.

NYFS also wants to express its deep appreciation for David Kingsley, co-founder of NewSylum Brewing Company, who recently passed away. Candice Bohr, NYFS Executive Director states, "We are truly heartbroken by his loss. Dave's unwavering generosity and dedication to mental health advocacy left a mark on our organization and the community. It was an honor to work alongside him, and we are committed to carrying forward his spirit of compassion and care in everything we do."

Thank you, NewSylum Brewing Co., for your continued support and for keeping Dave’s legacy alive.

Newtown Knights of Columbus Run 4 Hunger and Health: A Community United for Mental Health and Food Security

Knights of Columbus Run 4 Hunger and Health, marking another successful event dedicated to supporting two critical causes: mental health and food security. With perfect weather and the high spirits of 170 runners, the community came together to raise awareness and much-needed funds for those in need.

From participants to volunteers, everyone contributed to the event's uplifting atmosphere, making the day both memorable and impactful. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of the Newtown Knights of Columbus, who tirelessly organized and supported the race, the event was a resounding success.

Through the efforts of the Knights and everyone involved, funds were raised that will go directly toward supporting mental health services and ensuring that individuals and families in need have access to nutritious food. Without the Knights' unwavering support and leadership, we simply wouldn’t be able to make the impact that we do. We are truly grateful for their partnership in helping to meet the needs of our community.

As we reflect on this special day, we’re reminded of the power of community collaboration and the importance of taking action to support causes that matter. The success of this year’s Run 4 Hunger and Health shows what we can achieve when we work together—and we look forward to many more successful events in the future!
