Little boy and mom feeding goats in the Children's Zoo.

I guess we're skipping right to summer. With the warm weather we are excited to see more and more faces at the Zoo! Goat and Koi feedings are back and be sure to check out the newly opened Sullivan Rohrscheib Educational Theater that will soon host education talks by our Junior Zookeepers and much more!

Construction is underway and should be wrapped up soon in our Children’s Zoo on a brand-new habitat and Birthday Pavilion! Excuse the mess while work is ongoing – the end result will bring in a Mulefoot Hog and another spot in the zoo for making family memories.

See you at the Zoo!

Sullivan Rohrscheib Educational Theater Unveiled

May 6 marked the opening of the Sullivan Rohrscheib Educational Theater. The theater, which is located near Zoo Lab will be an important backdrop for the Zoo's education programs. The theater is named after Sullivan Rohrscheib, son of Josh and Ciarra Rohrscheib. Wanting to honor their son's memory with a place that brings joy to children, the Rohrscheib family and their friends made a significant financial commitment to the project.

Ultrasound Equipment Donation Received

Miller Park Zoo thanks Ft. Jesse Imaging & Gale Keeran Center for Women for the donation of an ultrasound unit to Miller Park Zoo. The unit will allow MPZ to detect pregnancies and help make important husbandry decisions for Zoo Residents. It

also gives Zoo Staff and veterinary staff another tool in the toolbox to diagnose and treat any animal medically.

The ultrasound unit has already been put to good use on some of the Zoo's San Clemente Island Goat's. Goat babies are expected this month in the Children's Zoo!
