Jazz Journalists Association Presents:
"Seeing Jazz: JJA Photographers Masterclasses"
Series Continues Saturday, November 19 at 1 PM ET
with Photographer

The "Seeing Jazz JJA Photography Master Class" sessions continue Saturday, November 19 at 1 PM EST with photographer Lou Jones. Starting at 1 pm ET, the interactive Master Class, moderated by Hrayr Attarian, is available for free to JJA members, and $10 the general public. Register HERE.

Lou Jones, Boston-based photographer, has created imagery for Fortune 500 corporations, international companies and local small businesses; completed assignments for magazines and publishers including Time/Life, National Geographic and Paris Match; initiated long-term projects on civil wars in Central America, death row, Olympic Games, and pregnancy. 

Speedlights and Speedlites: Creative Flash Photography at Lightspeed is one of his several books. His work has been exhibited widely (includes the show "Jazz Photographs Taken Over the Last 30 Years) and he's currently involved in the Pan Africa Project, Redefining the Modern Image of Africa.


Previous "Seeing Jazz" master classes featuring photographers Adriana MateoLauren DeutschLuciano Rossetti, Marc PoKempner and Nedici Dragoslav are posted on YouTube. Next session will present photographer Ken Franckling on December 17.

Photographer and writer Hrayr Attarian regularly writes jazz album and live show reviews as well as jazz in medicine articles. He also maintains jazz artist bios for the All About Jazz websiteHe regularly contributes album reviews for Jazziz Magazine and he is also the official reviewer for the Chicago Jazz Magazine.

Attarian is also working on a book of 101 biographies of obscure jazz artists called Undeserved Obscurity: 101 Portraits of Unsung Heroes of Jazz.

Attendees will be enabled to ask questions. JJA members may register to attend free of charge. Non-members must pay $10 to register for the Zoom call.
