In an effort to provide students with an opportunity to attend a milestone event in their high school careers, Rio Rancho Public Schools has decided to allow high school Homecoming dances to take place this school year. There will be strict safety protocols in place to reduce the risk of anyone contracting COVID-19. The following rules will be in place for this year’s high school homecoming dances:

  1. The Homecoming Dances for both Rio Rancho High School and Cleveland High School will take place outdoors on Oct. 2 and will have the same start and end time.
  2. The following will be required for entry to the dances:
  • A face mask must be worn - it must meet NMPED face covering rules located on page 13 of the NMPED COVID-19 Response Toolkit for New Mexico’s Public Schools
  • Temperature check at entry; Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be denied entry
  • Everyone will be required to complete a screening survey PRIOR to entering the dance - a special QR code will be provided to students by the schools
  • Guests from other schools within RRPS or schools outside of RRPS will NOT be permitted
