for the fair from the Extension Office, such as:

  • Photo Mat Boards & Bags

office from August 25 to September 3.

It is better to take them to your own county

office as they will have your paperwork.

off your projects.

Entomology Project Meeting

The next Entomology project meeting will be on Saturday, September 20th beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Allen County Extension Office meeting room.

The hot weather should be producing lots of insects for you to catch. Bring your pinning board and supplies and 3 or 4 insects to pin.

If you are new to the project, I will have a couple of pinning set ups available for purchase for $15 each and some insects to pin. If you are doing the photography notebook, there should be a nice group of insects at the meeting to get photos of.

Due to several project fairs occurring in October, we will not have a meeting in October. Family Day will be in November this year. Questions? Call Vicky @ (620)804-9170.

4-H Judging Database 2025-2027

Adults interested in judging county and state 4-H projects, including animal exhibits (livestock, horse, dog, rabbit, etc. shows), static exhibits, communications and 4-H Day events, are invited to register for the Kansas 4-H Judges Database.

Potential judges are not required to be listed on the database in order to judge.

Registering for and being listed on the database allows for more exposure and opportunities to judge. It also ensures that judges working with youth are screened prior to working with youth.

The database is updated annually, and we ask that judges who were previously listed, complete the process annually to ensure that information is kept current.

By completing the online judges registration process, you are agreeing to be screened according to the Kansas 4-H Code of Conduct and policy. Once the screening process is complete, your information will be made available to local extension units. Staff interested in hiring you to judge will contact you directly.

This 4-H Judge Registration system is open until September 30th, 2025 at 11:59 PM and will re-open again on July 1, 2026.

The Kansas 4-H Project Partnership Teams assure grassroots involvement, provide leadership opportunities, and create a group of informed, motivated individuals across the state. Project Partnership Teams may either be ongoing or convened for a specific time to design and implement a specific program or initiative.

The role of the Program Partnership Team is to provide guidance and leadership in the development of a project subject matter or program, including conducting and managing major state events or educational experiences of the Kansas 4-H program. Areas of responsibility are to be outlined for each team by the 4-H Specialist with the approval of the Kansas 4-H Youth Development Program Leader. Final accountability for accepting team recommendations and implementing Kansas 4-H programs rests with the designated 4-H Specialist(s) and the Kansas 4-H State Program Leader.

The Kansas 4-H Project Partnership Teams are:

  • Animal Science
  • Communication & Expressive Arts
  • Consumer & Family Science
  • Discovery Days**
  • Engineering & Technology
  • Leadership & Personal Development
  • Natural Resources
  • Plant & Environmental Sciences*

* This will be a 4-H Project Partnership Team that will be coming in the future.

** Discovery Days also needs a team to help deliver this educational experience, and it will follow the same application process as the Project Partnership Teams and be considered as such.
