Sunday School and Worship Service
This Sunday's worship service will be at 10:00 a.m., held in our Garden of Remembrance, weather permitting.

We will continue to live-stream services on our Facebook page and YouTube for those who prefer to stay home. You will also be able to view the video’s on either platform after the service. Please use one of the links below to access to our Live Stream:
Moving forward, Sunday school will look a little different. The children will gather for a group lesson, then split up into smaller groups for a variety of activities/stations related to our theme: “I will sing and make music to the Lord.” The middle school group will meet separately as normal. We will follow the recommended safety guidelines to keep everyone healthy. We hope you’ll join us!
Congratulations!
Gilead Congregational Church presents Bibles to our Sunday School children who have risen to Third Grade. Receiving Bibles on Sunday were Piper Daniels, Alice Helwig, Harper Vargo, and Maribelle Zuzel.
Nine and Dine Pictures and a Word of Thanks
Lisa and Harvey would like to thank all of those who participated in the Inaugural Nine and Dine Golf/Outing. It was a tremendous success and a good time was had by all.

Special thanks are extended to Cherie Williams and Travelers Insurance for providing the sleeves of golf balls, which were presented to each golfer, David Henry and Travelers Insurance for providing the Travelers golf umbrellas, which were provided to a winning team, and Margaret Gibbs for her donation of eight sleeves of balls, which were presented to the team with the overwhelming personalities. Thank you, also, to Tonya Maurer for her many efforts on our behalf.
HOLD THE DATE: Our second annual Nine and Dine will be on September 25, 2022. You will not want to miss it. Just ask those who attended this year.

Registration is now open for the Sacred Ground Sessions
St. Peter’s and the Hebron Coalition on Diversity and Equity (CoDE) have joined hands and acquired a grant through the Hebron Greater Together Community Fund of the Hartford Foundation for Giving to offer an extensive program on understanding race, culture, and systemic causes that have led us to a place of deep division on issues of race.

As a result, a program created by The Episcopal Church called This Is Sacred Ground, is 10 intensive sessions spread over a 6-month period, on Mondays starting November 1. It is important to stress this will be a non-threatening, non-judgmental program intended to help promote understanding.
To register and reserve your spot for this online course please email Carol Geyer at Cgeyer260@gmail.com.
Christian Education
The Sunday school teachers and the Board of Christian Ed will be seeking volunteers from the congregation to share their gifts and talents with the youth. Nothing specific needed right now, but stay tuned!!

Here are some dates to add to your calendar. Some of them are coming up quickly and we realize it’s short notice, but hope you can join us.

  • Sunday, 10/17 6:00-7:30 pm October Meeting with PUMPKIN BOWLING at GCC

As is to be expected, we will be following COVID protocols, so please bring a mask to wear when we are inside the Fellowship Hall. We have some ideas for the year ahead, but are looking for some input from all of you about what you would like to do going forward. We certainly will have some limitations, but do think there are lots of things we can do if we think creatively. As always, please invite a friend to come along.

If you have any questions about our a Youth Group, please contact Heidi Byrne (hnbbyrne@comcast.net).

Board of Visitors / Pastoral visits

We have all been the grateful recipients of a Pastoral visit, sometimes when illness affected us or when difficulties loomed or even when all was well. In the times of an interim ministry, the connections of the congregation become especially significant and to foster those connections, the Deacons have established a Board of Visitors, composed of active members of our church family.

If you know of someone who might benefit from a visit, please contact Dale either by phone (860-228-3514) or email (dcdjbland1@aol.com) and she’ll set it up in coordination with Pastor Matt.
