A Garden Swap Update

Thank you to those that have been bringing their surplus of vegetables to share on Sunday. It has been a joy to see the abundance and the willingness to share with those that might enjoy them; and the swapping of not only veggies but garden stories too!

Please know that any part of the bounty that didn't find a home is bundled and dropped off at the Hebron Interfaith Human Services so that the gift of gardening extends further into our community.

The 2021 Garden Swap will continue throughout the growing season.
Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut

CROP Walk will be held on October 3rd

Please plan on joining us for our 30th "walk to end hunger" on October 3rd. All money raised by walkers will go to Church World Service's international hunger relief programs and to our local food bank. The walk route follows the Hop River State Park Trail with easy grades and a smooth walking surface, starting and ending at The First Congregational Church of Andover, 359 Rt. 6, Andover. Registration is at 1:45 PM, with the walk stepping off at 2:00 PM. Snacks and water will be available for walkers. We will be observing the COVID protocols in effect at that time. For those uncomfortable with an in-person walk, we invite them to register online and join us in spirit with the walk of their choice.
Our community believes in ending hunger. And, in 2021, we will continue to fight against the new challenges of disease and disaster that leave people hungry. Join with us in raising funds to help neighbors near and far get the meals they need this year.
The walk is sponsored jointly by the Congregational Churches of Andover, Columbia and Gilead. Please use this button to donate or register to walk on October 3rd.

Thank You Notes
Little Lending Library

We invite you to check out our Little Lending Library. Our library is filled with books for children and adults that celebrate diversity, empathy, kindness and racial understanding. It's a wonderful opportunity for families to read together and maybe open up conversations about children that are from families different from their own; a reminder we are all God's children. You may now return your books directly to the library.

For many months a few of our adult books have not been returned. If you have finished them please return them so others may enjoy them.

Hope you get a chance to enjoy our library!
Board of Visitors continues Pastoral visits

We have all been the grateful recipients of a Pastoral visit, sometimes when illness affected us or when difficulties loomed or even when all was well. In the times of an interim ministry, the connections of the congregation become especially significant and to foster those connections, the Deacons have established a Board of Visitors, composed of active members of our church family.

If you know of someone who might benefit from a visit, please contact Dale either by phone (228-3514) or email (dcdjbland1@aol.com) and she’ll set it up in coordination with Pastor Matt.
