The Jubilee Quilt Circle presents the second of its series of sewing and quilting classes on Thursday, September 9, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Instructor Phyllis Simpson will introduce participants to patterns relating to the Underground Railroad, the network of secret routes and safe houses used by enslaved African Americans primarily to escape into free states and Canada. Various instructors will host subsequent classes on the second Thursdays of each month.
