In the Fall of 2018, we printed our first edition of
The Able Life. Boldly printed on the cover were the words
"your story matters." Stories inspire, challenge, encourage, and inform us - we each have a God-given and unique story.
This summer, we're shifting
The Able Life to a digital format. Each week's
eNews will begin with a story from the Carmel family celebrating what God does when ordinary people live lives that abide in Christ so they can build relationships and live the Gospel with everything.
Matthew 5:14-16Jesus says "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Our stories of God at work are like a lighthouse - reflecting outward, piercing darkness, and giving hope. Sharing our stories of God at work in and through us is powerful. These stories testify to the brokenness in our world and His power to transform lives. Evangelist D.L. Moody commented, "Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine." Carmel family, this summer let's share our stories and "just shine!"

Praise is sweet - literally! We miss our friends at Carrington and look forward to returning to volunteer in their ice cream parlor. In the meantime, glad we could help the staff keep the scoops coming! We are thankful for our faithful Carmel volunteers that regularly serve there in the ice cream parlor.
Praise for sweet fellowship! This past Sunday, the Gripped by Grace Discipleship Community gathered in person to worship together. As reopening continues, we encourage small groups to find ways to gather safely in person.
