On January 10, 1995, the Pentagon announced that 2,600 U.S. Marines would be deployed to Somalia for Operation United Shield to assist the final United Nations peacekeeping troops to withdraw from the country. Read more below:

There are multiple ways that a Marine can choose to move him or herself and their family. A Marine may choose to do a Personally Procured Move (PPM), formerly a Do It Yourself (DITY) move, or he or she may choose to have the military move their personal family items for them.

Training Together: Men and Women
The 2020 National Defense Authorization Act is a congressional directive mandating the Marine Corps to integrate training at boot camp fully. MCRD San Diego has until 2028, and Parris Island has until 2025 to comply with the mandate. Read more below - You can click here for our announcement.
