Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands: People in Need of Change Helping People in Need of Change by Paul David Tripp
Foundational reading for anyone interested in Biblical Counseling: "The church today has more consumers than committed participants. For many, church is merely an event we attend or an organization we belong to." But as Tripp explains,God calls all his children to participate in ministry all the time. It is through the faithful ministry of every part that the Body will grow to full maturity in Christ. This book will encourage you to get off of the sidelines and learn how to become an effective tool of change in the lives of others.

JUNE BOOK
Habits of Grace: Enjoying Jesus through the Spiritual Disciplines by Dave Mathis
The Christian life is built on three seemingly unremarkable practices: reading the Bible, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. However, according to David Mathis, such "habits of grace" are the God-designed channels through which his glorious grace flows - making them life-giving practices for all Christians.

Date: Tuesday, June 16, 9:00-10:30 a.m.

JULY BOOK
Side by Side: Walking with Others in Wisdom and Love by Ed Welch
Written out of the conviction that friends are the best helpers, this accessible introduction to biblical counseling will equip believers to share their burdens with one another through gentle words of wisdom and kind acts of love. This book is written for those eager to see God use ordinary relationships and conversations between ordinary Christians to work extraordinary miracles in the lives of his people.

AUGUST BOOK
The Envy of Eve: Finding Contentment in a Covetous World by Melissa Kruger
The Envy of Eve guides readers to understand how desires grow into covetousness and what happens when this sin takes power in our hearts. Covetousness chokes out the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, allowing discontentment to bloom. The key to overcoming is to get to the root of our problem: unbelief-a mistrust of God's sovereignty and goodness.

The Gospel Comes with a House Key: Practicing Radically Ordinary Hospitality in our Post-Christian World by Rosaria Butterfield
With the amazing story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use this same “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own, but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives—helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

Stepping Heavenward: One Woman's Journey to Godliness by Elizabeth Prentiss
"How dreadfully old I am getting! Sixteen!" So begins 'Stepping Heavenward' by Elizabeth Prentiss, the journal-like account of a nineteenth century girl who learns, on the path to womanhood, that true happiness can be found in giving oneself for others. "This book is a treasure of both godly and womanly wisdom told with disarming candor and humility, yet revealing a deep heart's desire to know God," says noted Christian author Elisabeth Elliot. "I do not hesitate to recommend it to ... any woman who wants to walk with God."
