Join us this Friday, August 23, for a Sunset Sail
Special NLMS partnership with Discovering Amistad
New London, Connecticut --
New London Maritime Society and
Discovering Amistad are partnering on a 2 1/2-hour Amistad Sunset Sail this Friday evening, August 23, at 5:30 PM.
Prior to the sail,
registered Friday sail participants may visit the Custom House Maritime Museum without charge (a $7 value) between 1 and 5 PM; participants also receive a 10% discount in the Custom House MUSEUM SHOP (NLMS-member Friday sail participants receive a 20% discount). Proceeds from this Friday's sail will be shared between Discovering Amistad and NLMS. The ticket cost is $40 for adults, $25 for children 8 to12; preregistration required at
/new-london-summer-voyages.eventbrite.com.
Come to downtown New London this Friday afternoon. Visit for
free and SHOP at the Custom House Maritime Museum. Have an early dinner -- or pick up a picnic from a downtown restaurant, then take a lovely Sunset Sail off the Custom House Pier onboard t
he
Amistad.
Sails are 2 1/2 hours and can accommodate 42 guests age 8 and older. All guests are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure. It is important to be prompt, because we don't want to leave anyone behind at the dock or keep our guests waiting on our departure. Unfortunately, we may have last-minute cancellations
due to weather.
What to bring on a sail
It gets cooler once we are out sailing, and the weather can change quickly out on the water. Please bring a warm layer (fleece or sweater), a water-resistant shell or rain
jacket for wind protection, and closed-toe shoes. We also suggest bringing sunscreen and
a water bottle. In case of rain and to check on sail status, please call 475-238-4906 two hours prior to your scheduled sail.
Remember: keep watch on the harbor and the
Amistad 24/7 with the
NL HarborCam.
