A PERSONAL NOTE
Hi,

Judging by many of my clients’ issues, there seems to be a lot of pressure and stress in general out there. Oddly, this doesn’t center around Covid per se (at least, not in those who’ve contacted me), but in the variety of people’s individual challenges. Everything almost always boils down to one or more of the following categories: health, love, career, family, finances. But lately it’s almost as though the normal struggles of daily life have been magnified (and I’m not immune to it). I attribute this stress to the transit of Pluto through the final degrees of the sign of Capricorn, especially in the U.S. as it makes its first observed “return” to its original position in the horoscope, thus discombobulating our nation’s structure and our normal way of life. Nor has it helped that both Saturn and Uranus are squaring each other in the fixed signs, thereby busting things up on the one hand while delaying and blocking stuff on the other!
There are certain things we can change during any crisis, and certain things we can’t. Attitude and mindset are both very controllable. It’s said that happiness is a choice. That means, whatever is going on in our lives can be framed differently (e.g., “this is all a test of my strength/serenity/willpower, etc.” or “look at how many blessings I do have”). Or, we can apply the Zen technique of acceptance (e.g., going with the flow, “letting go and letting God,” having faith in our guides and the higher plane, etc.). Of course, there are times we must take action to alter the outcome in our favor instead of just being a patsy or a doormat! But the concomitant attitude of trust and optimism even while doing the action results in greater peacefulness than not… and that is how stress can be handled better.
So, I’m having my own health-related issues (nothing dangerous, thanks, just debilitating), and I’m experiencing a bit of extra burden from my clients’ problems (since many of my clients are just like long-term friends), and all that can be tiring. Consequently, I have to walk my talk, and put my own advice into play. I have to “play the Wisdom Game!” Ha! Nothing like being given a test by my Elders, who are telling me to get it together and rise to the challenge if I’m going to be giving anyone else advice!
OK. We’re all here by our own design, during “interesting times.” Why did we choose that? Why did we want to participate in this era? The answer is very different for different individuals. But the solution is pretty much the same. Stay calm and figure out your best move, then add it to the collective structure of the times, hopefully for the greater benefit of our universe.

ASTRO TIDBITS - Feb. 2022
For the World, Week 1 brings excitement, high energy, and new information or ways of thinking (Venus trine Uranus; Mars sextile Jupiter; Mercury station direct conjunct Pluto, sextile Neptune), although there is much fresh tension between the Old and the New (New Moon conjunct Saturn, square Uranus). Week 2 indicates innovation and originality (Mars trine Uranus). Mid-month shows a rebirth that is on track (Pluto trine NN), with a nice pattern for love (Venus conjunct Mars). Week 3 shows good fortune (Jupiter sextile Uranus), although with lots of drama around financial security (Full Moon in Leo square NN in Taurus). Healing and inspiration are shown for Week 4 (Mars sextile Neptune).
Throughout the month, especially from the 21st, the U.S. begins a rebirth regarding the economy (Pluto return in H2). However, until the 17th there remains infection worries and weaknesses (Neptune square U.S. Mars). Week 1 brings military strength, good alliances, and a helpful start for currency (Mars opposite U.S. Jupiter, trine U.S. p2 ASC; Jupiter conjunct U.S. p2 DSC; New Moon in H2 sextile U.S. ASC exact). Much information is leaked (Mercury station direct opposite U.S. Mercury, conjunct U.S. SN). Week 2 indicates some surprising losses, anger, and frustration (Jupiter square U.S. Uranus; Mars t-square U.S. Saturn and Sun). Week 3 offers aggression and victory (Mars square U.S. p2 Mars, sextile U.S. p2 Sun). Constructive plans and inspiring news vie with confusion about laws and the media (Saturn trine U.S. p2 Mars; Neptune sextile U.S. p2 Mercury). A peak emotional response to government is likely on the 16th (Full Moon in Leo H9 opposite U.S. Moon exact). Week 4 brings debates and great success (Mars opposite U.S. Mercury; Jupiter trine U.S. Sun).
Trump’s pattern is good for business and gradual change (Saturn in Grand Air Trine to his Uranus/p2 NN, and his Jupiter).
Kamala will find it hard to remain in her current position (Pluto t-square her Sun and Moon; Uranus square her p2 ASC).
General Mark Milley (6/18/58, Winchester MA) is now undermined (Neptune square his Saturn).
Emmanuel Macron is very confused (Neptune square his Venus; his p2 Moon conjunct his Neptune). There is upset, and he will probably be suddenly ousted (Uranus square his Mars, and will form a t-square to his Uranus, Moon, and p2 Sun).
Alec Baldwin (4/3/58, Winchester MA) has an explosive event in March (Uranus square his Mars; Mars square his Moon).

Book Review: “Ancient High Tech: The Astonishing Scientific Achievements of Early Civilizations" – by Frank Joseph, (Bear & Co., 2020)
Lately, I’ve been on a kick reading about very ancient civilizations – I mean, much older than Ancient Egypt or even the Sumerians. More like 40,000 or even 150,000 years ago. Maybe it’s from a past-life regression in which I was a (male) survivor of a cataclysm that destroyed much of that world. Or maybe it’s because of postings about many uncoverings of lost knowledge and time-misplaced objects. Anyhow, this fascination was what was behind my choice to read this and similar books.
In this book, author Joseph presents twenty-one chapters covering numerous ancient “achievements” in fields as varied as medicine, architecture, weaponry, electricity, engineering, optics, and flight. And more. Not all are all that “ancient” but a few go really far back. Each category is well illustrated (some even with full-color plates) along with soundly researched investigative findings, and presented to us in mostly-readable although sometimes technical format. Some repetitious themes are: the skepticism of modern science in the face of these artifacts; a devolution of human knowledge upon entering the Dark Ages; and, the modern “re-discovery” of lost technology. There are even some examples – e.g., the sturdy mortar used in the Great Pyramid, the strength of Roman concrete, or the engineering tolerances of cut granite – that cannot yet be duplicated on their grand scale.
Different areas of the globe are represented. A Hindu temple sculpture of a man on a bicycle from the 7th century; Japanese mechanical birds from the 800s; Greco-Roman robotic creations; Nazca hot-air balloons; Spartan anti-infection measures; Mayan dentistry from 1300 BCE; frankincense as a pain-killer and wound-healer; an Egyptian prosthetic toe; Norse sunstones to navigate the seas; Scottish star-aligned calendar megaliths; a 2000-year-old Iranian yakhchal (clay structure) to cool food; gears; clocks; paper…the list goes on! All invented, used, and perfected long before our modern age. The categories get even more interesting when Joseph tackles weapons of mass destruction (poisons, wasps, elephants, incendiary missiles, Roman army polybolos, Boeotian flamethrowers, Greek fire, Spartan steel, the Claw, incendiary mirrors, and Aztec reflectors). How about the ability to vitrify a stone fort, i.e., turn rockface into glass? (We can’t do that yet!) Both the Aztecs and the Kelts knew how.
I haven’t even mentioned the Baghdad Battery, a simple electricity-generator dating back to Persia 600 CE. Used for electroplating, the process was lost until the 20th century. Battery lamps may have illuminated the artists who worked in Egyptian tombs where no evidence of soot has ever been found. What about the very old rust-defying iron pillar in Delhi that can’t be duplicated today? Joseph goes on to talk about megastructures, advanced machining, water management systems, subterranean cities, and much more, ultimately concluding that the Great Pyramid and its nearby structures were perhaps a power plant and anti-earthquake device to harness and transform geologic energy into electricity. Shades of Nicola Tesla many centuries later!
What can I say? I love this kind of stuff! Even if some of these claims don’t hold up to scrutiny, as they may, this is still a fun read. 5 stars.

BE READY FOR A NEW DAWN
We wish to tell everyone that there is a light on the horizon, that there is a waking up, a new beginning, a new energy entering the world. We wish to say this, for many are so immersed in the old pattern and the outworn ways that they cannot shift gears to look ahead and see something fresh and different.
It is true that there is new energy, new light, new hope, and new ways but what is important to say now is that the mental work must accompany this fresh energy. That mental work consists of first, the recognition of an outworn mindset, and then, a curiosity that translates to an open mind or a quest and search for discovery, and finally, a realization.
This threefold step from the old, to a neutral, to a joyful awakening can be instantaneous or can take a person quite a while to transverse. It makes no matter. Either way, a new dawn begins now.
For those who have stepped to it, danced with it, allowed it, welcomed it, this fresh perspective or new reality will be a cinch, will be easy to integrate, to accept, to enjoy. But for those who resist, delay, stay stubbornly in the old, it will be more difficult. There are always those who cling to the past, and always those who can’t wait for the gate to open. And still yet there are those who sit by the sidelines just to watch the drama unfold. Neither or not any position is best; however, certain attitudes bring more suffering while others bring more excitement.
Choose well, decide your path, investigate your own mind to see where perhaps you are stuck, and soften, loosen, be ready, and just wait.
