A PERSONAL NOTE

This month, uncertainty is the theme. Many of us are uncertain about many things: our finances, our country, our future, our health. Many of my colleagues are expressing concern about the upcoming energy patterns and just what they might mean. Some astrologers see positive changes, and some see drastic upsets. It’s just hard to know what to expect, and what’s in store for ourselves, our family, our community, and our world.
In my own life, I’m uncertain about my daughter’s prognosis after her recent breast cancer surgery, uncertain about my athletic grandson’s health after his vaccinations, uncertain about where to invest our savings, and so forth. Are you experiencing any of these uncertainties lately?
The last several channelings I’ve received have spoken advice to us about change, its purpose, and the perspective to see it by. For instance, last May we were told to “Prepare to Be Awakened” and that “external circumstances may force or push towards growth, but discomfort and even anxiety within may also do so.” And last July, in a message entitled “Turmoil Before the New Earth”, the Brotherhood told us “It is as though you sit in the center of a whirlwind, a hurricane, watching the crashing and jumbling around you, and making decisions if this is what you desire or not.” And last September, in a channeling called “Core Identity Can Weather Big Changes”, we are told “It is when there is great resistance to change that any new era feels uncomfortable, difficult, and even untenable.” And just last month, in a message called “Be the Witness Watching the World Change”, the guidance told us that “it behooves you, the reader, the traveler, the pilgrim, to step back as much as possible from the goings-on, and simply observe. Remain in your witness mode.”
Powerful words. Hard to do.
With my Sagittarius rising, I’m usually optimistic. But being a Capricorn, I can also be a worrier. Years ago in this newsletter, I reviewed a terrific book called “Comfortable with Uncertainty”, by the female Buddhist monk Pema Chodron, in which she advised the notion that “we should not push away our fears, anxieties and pain, or disguise them, but draw closer (as a warrior) using the simple practice of meditative breathing to transmute the darkness (in-breath) into an out-breath of loving kindness.”
Bottom line is, I’ll deal with this upcoming energy pattern by acknowledging some immediate qualms but believing in the overall positive outcome for humanity and the world. Cheers!

ASTRO TIDBITS - NOV. 2022
The World should begin to see a lessening of tensions (Saturn leaving square to Uranus). Week 1 has a yearning for “the good ol’ days” (Venus conjunct SN). But November 8th brings a big possibly disruptive event that can have to do with technology and/or money, maybe affecting the internet (Lunar Eclipse in Taurus conjunct Uranus exact). Afterwards seems economically beneficial (Venus sextile Pluto), with inspiration towards peace and love (Venus trine Neptune). From the 19th-22nd, there is little impetus for war because energies are weak (Mars R square Neptune). The 23rd shows good prospects for economic growth (Jupiter SD sextile Pluto) and a new start affecting travel, justice, and future potential (New Moon in Sagittarius). Week 4 indicates good pacing (Mars R trine Saturn).
The U.S. is also economically favored on the 3rd (Jupiter sextile U.S. p2 Pluto). The whole month indicates a finale or turning point regarding tech and humanitarianism (U.S. p2 Moon at 29 Aquarius). Oddly, the big 11/8 midterm Election Day and following shows a very quiet pattern with lots of discussion afterwards (no aspects, then two pleasant-enough Mercury hits). During Week 3, the nation has no heart for aggression (Mars square U.S. Neptune…) but prefers discussion (…trine U.S. p2 Mercury). The 23rd has another good pattern for economic strength and the start of a new 2-year cycle regarding allies (Jupiter SD sextile U.S. Pluto in H2; a Mars return in H7).
Trump gets good news and is inventive on the 4th (his p2 Mercury sextile his p2 Uranus), but remains uncertain all month (Neptune squares his Sun). He is bold and angry in Week 3 (Mars R conjunct his Sun, opposite his Moon…) but is making correct efforts by month’s end (…Mars R conjunct his NN).
Kamala Harris is in crisis, and may not be able to retain her position by December (Pluto again t-squares her Sun and Moon).
Kanye (“Ye”) West (6/8/77, Atlanta, GA) gave his Tucker Carlson interview under very powerful aspects (Pluto trine his Mercury). His horoscope shows wealth and influence (his Jupiter/Sun trine his Pluto, sextile his Saturn) but many challenges regarding women, love, and family (his Jupiter/Sun t-square his Moon and Neptune; his Venus/Mars opposite his Uranus). He can be confused or too idealistic (his Moon in Pisces; his Neptune afflicted to it) but he needs marriage and partnership to learn to share and work as a team (his NN in Libra).

Docuseries Review: “How to Change your Mind: History and Uses of Psychedelics” – by Michael Pollan, (Netflix, 2022)
Narrated by author Pollan, the series “consists of four episodes, which were released on July 12, 2022, on Netflix, and give insights into the psychedelic drugs LSD, psilocybin, MDMA and mescaline as well as their uses in psychedelic therapy.” [Wikipedia] Pollan looks into the history and uses of these chemicals, the current psychiatric and medical recently-renewed research on each, and related matters such as counterculture gurus, the CIA, and Mexican sacred rituals. Although some of these drugs have been around since the 50s, and others as plants since forever (mushrooms, peyote), all scientific efforts were halted by Nixon in the 70s, and the drugs made illegal. But their unique properties can affect our brains and consciousness in ways that promote healing even of trauma.
Each episode zeros in on a patient who is dealing with an affliction. Cancer and the fear of death; OCD; chronic depression; PTSD; and constant stabbing headaches are some examples. In many cases, medicine hasn’t helped but merely treated the symptoms, not the root cause. The victims, who have each been interviewed beforehand and then volunteered, are shown ingesting one of the four chemicals, being professionally guided through the reaction, describing their “trip” [my word] while under the influence, and then explaining to us their resultant life-changing positive outcomes. “There is nothing like this in clinical trial results for a neuropsychiatric disease,” says Johns Hopkins neuroscientist Gul Dolen, for example, regarding MDMA.
The graphics and artwork that illustrate the mental condition and transcendent high that accompanies each experience are spectacular. And very appropriate and educational.
Experts such as chemists, brain researchers, and psychiatrists, several from “back in the day”, are visited and interviewed. Many had tried the pertinent drug themselves. MRIs of the brains of case studies were analyzed, showing different ways the brain is flooded with serotonin, and in what parts. Volunteers all reported having a mystical experience. What is that?, one scientist asks, and then answers that even a mystical experience has specific measurable traits, such as seeing all people and nature as connected, no longer fearing death, and feeling a connection to a divine energy that heals the self.
Psychedelic means “mind-manifesting”. Volunteers could be called psychonauts because the psychoactive substance can radically change one’s consciousness. The four chemicals are described as being non-toxic, non-hallucinatory, and non-addictive. One, peyote (“magic mushrooms”), is even the basis of a traditional sacred Mexican religious ceremony that puts one in touch with Mother Earth, ancient relatives, deeper reality, and spirit. These drugs, Pollan’s experts say, allow people to open up, get past the defenses of their traumas, and begin the all-important process of complete emotional or physical healing.
A movement has begun to Decriminalize Nature (e.g., plants such as peyote), and to use these substances in a socially constructive way, perhaps via an elder (ceremonial leader, wisdom keeper), maybe in a group setting, forming intentions while honoring the sacred, and using the endeavor to raise consciousness, heal mind and body, and learn to love oneself and everything else.
Much more can be said of this jam-packed four-hour presentation, but the best thing would be to watch it yourself. We and our world can use all the healing and wisdom we can get! 5 stars.

THE REAL WAY TO HELP THE EARTH
We come forth to explain that there is turbulence in the world at this moment because there are many conflicting beliefs, many desires at cross purposes, many splits, disruptions, and catastrophic decisions that are at play. It is as though humanity cannot find common ground but is separating into distinct facets which are going off in many directions. Not blending but crashing into each other and creating an awful stew of energies.
It is from this mash-up that humanity must decide to focus on a few realistic and positive outcomes or destinations, and then pool abilities, talents, opportunities, and intentions to finally come together and move in harmonious (or at least parallel) directions in order to bring back into the world greater peace and calm.
It is a fact that the Earth itself responds to this cacophony of human emotions in ways that disturb its serenity. In turn, this brings harsh weather, eruptions, and earth changes. Ironically, those who wish to promote positive outcomes for the climate must produce within themselves first some positive energies of paradisaical peace. For just as angry activists cannot really manifest world peace, so must humanity realize that its collective register of vibration is what will determine Earth’s peace and calm. As will it foment humanity’s peace and calm.
And so we admonish but also lovingly guide that humanity look within, especially when broadcasting hate or intolerance, or simply greed, and alter all of that to bring forward more and more its beneficial opposite. Love is all that is really needed now to overcome all this worldly turbulence.
