A PERSONAL NOTE
Hi,

I must say that, in recent interactions with people who are in one way or another strangers to me, I have had very pleasant and courteous exchanges, for instance, in stores, in physical therapy, people holding open doors, in restaurants… and it goes mightily against the narrative that we are divided, hateful of each other, bent on destruction, and so forth.
I’m sure that there are many instances of agitation, even violence, often pre-planned, and probably funded. But it may also be that, as a reaction to that dark energy, the average person is unconsciously (or not) trying to truly re-balance their human contacts. I’ve seen the videos of looting and thuggery; I’ve seen the social media posts of hatred and viciousness. I’m not in denial. But I’ve also been experiencing, as I’ve said, very gracious, sweet, almost unconsciously kind actions from people I do not know.
My friend Judy Hennes and I have looked at this astrologically, and we know that there is a positive pattern next to, or underlying, all the hate and disruption, i.e., some good aspects from Neptune, a very spiritual energy. Neptune is usually subtle and can, in hard aspect, create sabotage, delusion, and confusion, all of which leads to free-floating anxiety, even deception or betrayal. But when it’s in good aspect – which it is now, simultaneously – it can create inspiration from above, positive imagination of beautiful outcomes, compassion, and spiritual experiences. So, we think there is an underlying movement or thrust for humanity to elevate itself, to strive for love and peace, and to find a personal connection to something higher than the mundane.
We may not yet be aware of this movement. We can look around and feel the world is coarser now, and that in olden times there was more gentility, respect, courtesy, and higher values. We may think nostalgically of the “good old days” (which probably weren’t all that “good” for many people as they lived through those eras). However, we’re on a threshold now. Some have even called it a spiritual battle between good and evil; an era that is almost biblical in its glaring contrasts.
So, I’ll take heart from all those nice people who didn’t even know me but have shown me such nice deeds and behaviors, so that I can keep believing that the world is a lovely place that continues to evolve upwards. I’m going to stay in that state of mind despite the ugliness of our political season. Hope you do, too.

ASTRO TIDBITS - NOVEMBER 2020
The World sees delays or hesitancy regarding talks on the 3rd which otherwise would be green-lighted (Mercury SD square Saturn). Week 2 offers positive efforts regarding significant transformations (Pluto conjunct Jupiter). The 14th-15th indicate a fresh start for the economy, the markets, and large-scale projects (New Moon sextile Pluto/Jupiter), but also overreaction, ruthlessness, and belligerence (Venus square Pluto/Jupiter; Mars SD opposite Venus, square Jupiter/Pluto). From the 18th-19th, people are under strain, crazy things are said, and avoiding social events is best (Uranus opposite Mercury; Venus square Saturn). Week 4 brings inspiration, high-mindedness, nice surprises, and the peak or close of a phase, with news of an ultimate development (Neptune SD sextile Pluto, trine Mercury; Uranus opposite Venus; Lunar Eclipse in Gemini).
In the U.S., spiritual awareness is growing (Pluto trine Neptune). November 3rd, Election Day, sees a plethora of talks and discussion, probably not the final ballot count (Mercury SD square U.S. Mercury/progressed NN/Fortuna). Week 2 offers hope (Jupiter trine U.S. Neptune). Diplomacy might be tried on the 12th (Mercury SD opposite U.S. progressed Venus). A culmination is reached from the 13th-15th , bringing a very mixed bag, some sadness, some happiness, no doubt the results of the Election (Mercury conjunct U.S. progressed Saturn, trine U.S. Venus). On the 14th, indications of anger and frustration show a big conflict, possibly requiring legal intervention (Mars SD opposite U.S. Saturn, square U.S. Sun). However, on the 15th, there is some good news with the chance of deals being struck (New Moon in U.S. Scorpio H12, trine U.S. Mercury/progressed NN; Mercury trine U.S. Jupiter, sextile U.S. progressed ASC). Mid-month is negative for the stock market, requiring reevaluation (Saturn conjunct U.S. Pluto), whereas the second half of the month shows turmoil but some sort of liberation (Uranus square U.S. NN, trine U.S. progressed ASC). Week 3 is helpful for old issues, and may bring upbeat news and helpful discussions (Jupiter opposite U.S. Mercury, conjunct U.S. progressed SN; Mercury trine U.S. Sun). Discussions continue after Thanksgiving (Mercury trine U.S. Mercury/progressed NN) but the 30th indicates strikes requiring drastic measures (Lunar Eclipse in U.S. H6 Gemini conjunct U.S. Uranus exact). What a month!
President Trump is quite happy this month (his progressed Moon conjuncts his Uranus/Node, trine Jupiter). He is fulfilling his destiny (NN conjunct his NN exact in H10). The 3rd brings high hopes, brilliant news, and a strong speech of bipartisan unification (Venus conjunct his progressed Neptune; Uranus sextile his Mercury; Mercury SD in Libra sextile his Mars exact, conjunct his progressed Jupiter). These patterns are indicators of a win.
By comparing Trump’s horoscope with the U.S. Sibley chart, we see the following: he is, as he called himself, a “wartime president”, evoking lots of conflict over women’s issues (his NN/Sun conjunct U.S. Mars; his Mars opposite U.S. Moon). This confuses him because he doesn’t get why (his Sun/NN squares U.S. Neptune). He brings out dark and hidden matters (“The election of Donald Trump did not create the left’s hate.... it revealed it.”) (his Mars conjunct U.S. Dark Moon Lilith), and does hard work to heal the country (his Chiron conjuncts U.S. Saturn) because the country feels like family to him (his DSC conjunct U.S. Moon). He has overly high hopes for the job (his Neptune squares the U.S. Jupiter/Venus/Sun) whereas the job can mutually transform him and the nation (his MC trines U.S. Pluto). Communication via talks, rallies, and discussions is his forte (his Mercury conjunct U.S. Jupiter/Sun; his MC sextile U.S. Mercury/progressed NN), allowing him to transform Hollywood and the media (his Pluto conjunct U.S. NN in Leo; his MC sextile the U.S. Mercury/progressed NN).
Kamala Harris realizes a loss on the 14th (Saturn t-square her Sun and Moon exact). By the 28th, she may suffer guilt or remain in a delusion but what is clear is the undermining by an irresponsible partner (Joe Biden) (Neptune SD opposite her Venus).
Nancy Pelosi remains in an unmovable fantasy by month’s end (Neptune SD conjunct her Mercury, sextile her Uranus/Venus; her progressed Sun/progressed ASC squares her Neptune). However, as the year turns, reality kicks in and she will become depressed and possibly ill (her progressed Saturn opposite her Moon).
As I said last time, folks, this is just the mathematics of astrology! This is the picture it paints.

Book Review: “Wisdom of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives from the Michael Newton Institute” – by Ann Clark, Karen Joy, Joanne Selinski, Marilyn Hargreaves (Llewellyn, 2019)
Dedicated to the late Dr. Michael Newton, founder of the Michael Newton Institute of hypnotherapeutic past life regression methods, and author of two wonderful books on the subject – Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls – this book is a compilation by 26 members from 7 countries and multiple states who contributed 62 case studies of their clients. This compilation was put together by four women, members of the Michael Newton Institute’s Research Committee, who were based in a variety of countries around the globe, happily illustrating the reality of the phenomenon that people of all ages, all ethnicities, and all locations are capable of being regressed and thereby gaining tremendous insights into their life struggles and deepest purposes.
These case studies are organized into 11 chapters plus a conclusion, the chapters being: Facing a Health Crisis; Anxiety and Depression; Healing from Loss; Navigating Romantic Relationships; From Self-Sabotage to Strength; Growing Through Family Conflict; Nurturing Relationships; Balancing Career and Finances; Breaking Free; Transformed by a Brush with Death; and Aging and Dying. By these headings, the reader can immediately see how life’s various encounters can be enhanced when gaining the perspective of a previous life review while in the current sojourn on the planet.
Each chapter has four to eight different case studies. What I particularly liked is that the various practitioners (or, perhaps, editors) take pains to remove all mention of their own reactions but simply present each individual’s story, often, if appropriate, adding the input from that person’s spiritual guide or guides if it was instrumental in the wisdom that was gleaned.
Enjoyable too is the follow-up information that gives us the viewpoint of how each powerful regression impacted the further life of the client for the better. For example, forgiving an emotionally empty mother who couldn't show the actual love she felt, or realizing how a guilt-ridden sibling could now manage her sister's suicide. Almost every case study used as an example, culled as they were from the practitioners’ many clients, are the stories that were deeply significant both to the client and to the reader, even tales that were full of unfulfillment or failure. Several had important meaning correlating to my own clients’ life struggles, and so this book became a resource in helping some individuals to heal or gain insight. That “no life is wasted” is well explained. In some cases, simply reading a few stories resonated so deeply with me that the book became a healing experience to me as well.
I am left with a couple of lingering questions, though. For example, in telling of the realization of the choices being made by the soul between incarnations, there is no mention of the karma that has been accrued and must be resolved. While there is much mention of one’s soul group, and the process of reincarnating together in many switched-around roles, it would have been helpful if there were some conversation as to how the next life and the next different role would be conducive to rebalancing negative karma. In some instances, this was sort of alluded to by stories in which a soul task was not completed and the guides required even more distress during the ensuing life in order to prod a catalyst for growth. “Learn the lesson” was thus implied.
All of the experiences told in the between-lives period were benign. The soul was cleansed; the soul was allowed to be healed or restored, abundant love was given, and the next life in Earth-school was co-designed for growth. Most of the people who participated as clients were typical people of different ages and living in different countries but mostly middle class, average.
However, this raised another question for me: In the case of a person who has lived a very evil life, torturing, murdering, or abusing others, would their experience between lives be as benign? Would their co-creation of their next life be as matter-of-fact? History has always thrown forth tyrants and evildoers, sometimes on a grand scale. And since karma is never mentioned, nor is the subject of justice addressed, I’m left curious about this particular human experience and how it is handled.
In one case study, the female had been abused by a stepfather, raped and beaten repeatedly. He even killed her dog and cat when she finally ran away! We are told that, between lives, she meets the stepfather and recognizes that they are of the same soul group, and love one another. And we are told that the stepfather has volunteered to play the role of abuser. Well, even though the stepfather volunteered to play that role, did he not accrue negative karma? And why would a soul volunteer to play the part of an evildoer when negative karma – in other words, a future life of pain and suffering – would be written into his cosmic ledger?
This question about the mechanism for learning wisdom and compassion was not answered for me. However, the excellent organization and wonderful tales contributing to deep understanding of the nature of Earth school, was very satisfying. I would highly recommend this book. 5 stars.

THE GAME OF LIFE AT ITS MOST INTENSE
We wish to remind you that all of life is a game, a wisdom game, a game created by yourselves and us to learn and grow, and to develop your spiritual muscle. It is a game intended to absorb you completely so that emotionally you are fully reactive and do not see your life and outer events as simplified, non-engaging, or trivial. Every moment, every experience, every occurrence is designed in this game to involve you completely and to help you to move in a direction you might call “upwards” or “higher”.
What is the definition of “higher”, for that would be the best strategy in which to play your life’s game? “Higher” would be less involved, less reactive, more enlightened, lighter in feeling rather than heavier, less dense, more uplifting, easier, happier, more flowing, and more connected to that which you conceive as divine. And so, the direction of moving higher is greatly to be desired. In fact, it is the whole point of incarnating.
Right now, the game of life is at its most intense. Periodically, the entire planet moves into eras or periods like this where everyone is fully engaged and where the only “escape” from challenges is in the mind, and towards the light. That means, whatever is occurring on the mundane level has been agreed upon and designed to put pressure on each individual to do away with complacency in order to accelerate growth, and to show clearly the choices or forks in the road. To decide to move higher, or stay put, or even to go lower in some instances. Going lower, as you can see, brings you more suffering, more density, heavier, sadder, more compromised, and less able to free yourself. Not a place towards which to aspire!
Indeed, this era, as have been others in human history, requires that you make choices, and demands that you play your game of life well. If enough individuals on the planet make good choices – that is, choices that bring you higher – the planet itself is relieved. The era shifts into one of joy, abundance, and peace.
This is now up to you, the individual. It is not activism that is called for so much as inner work to make the good decisions, to help yourself ascend. That is all.
