Donor & Volunteer Spotlight:

Dinny Starr

Hi, my name is Dinny Starr and I am a stained glass artist, pet portrait painter, and longtime Board member with Newton Community Pride for over 4 years. I have served in many capacities, but for the last 2 years, I have served as Vice-Chair of the Board and Programming Committee Chair.

When my children were younger we loved participating in KidsFEST, viewing the festive and spooky Halloween-painted windows, volunteering at the Spelling Bee, and attending the summer concerts at the Newton Centre village green. Now I love seeing the next generation of Newton residents participate and enjoy NCP's events - Winterfest, the Linda Plaut Festival of the Arts, and NCP's public art initiatives.

I am happy to volunteer and donate as an NCP Benefactor of the Arts because I see firsthand how our donor dollars are leveraged to provide the greatest community impact with prudent fiscal stewardship. I look forward to our spring and summer programming and having Newton come alive with music, public art, and festivals.
