LEADERSHIP ASHEVILLE FORUM
On April 25, community leaders and the public will gather at the Leadership Asheville Forum to tackle greenways and trails in Buncombe County. Lucy Crown, City of Asheville's Greenways Coordinator, and Connect Buncombe's own Marcia Bromberg will present and update the group on current and future greenway developments. GREENWAY OP-ED
Connect Buncombe's Ann Babcock recently posted an Opinion piece in the Asheville Citizen-Times. Ann, who also serves on NC's Parks and Recreation Authority, shares the many benefits of greenways to our community and discusses the need for vision and investment to make greenways a reality in Buncombe County. BLACK MOUNTAIN GREENWAYS
For this month's blog, we welcome Julie White of the Black Mountain Greenway Commission. Julie  shares how Black Mountain's greenways play a part of the bigger picture of Buncombe County's greenway system, including what's to come and how to get involved.  
 GREEN OPPORTUNITIES
Earlier this month, students from the Green Opportunities Landscaping and Maintenance Program worked in collaboration with the City of Asheville to build a temporary trail on a portion of the Town Branch Greenway. The project is made possible through grants from New Belgium Brewing and the Mountain Area Workforce Development, and funding from the City's Transportation Department. LEARN MORE
GREENWAYS & THE NC ECONOMY
The North Carolina Department of Transportation recently released a public statement regarding the outcome of a study of several of the states greenways. The research project highlights several positive economic advantages of greenways, including increased sales for local businesses and other community benefits.  LEARN MORE
