To the Pace Community:

The Safety and Security Department would like to welcome you back to campus! Start the academic year off right by taking a few minutes to complete these quick, actionable items to help keep you and the Pace Community safe.

  • Add Safety and Security contact info to your phone. You never know when you may need help. Add our 24-hour contact information to the favorites on your phone, so you can reach us quickly:

  • For Haub School of Law, dial (914) 442-4300
  • For Pleasantville, dial (914) 773-3400
  • For New York, dial (212) 346-1800

For life-threatening or major emergencies, dial 911 followed by a call to Campus Safety and Security. If you need to reach us via email, use security@pace.edu.

  • Make sure you can receive Pace Emergency Alerts. If an emergency were to happen on campus, how would you know? The Pace Alert system is the quickest way to receive an emergency alert. Students, faculty, and staff are automatically signed up to receive Pace Emergency Alerts via email and text. You can verify the mobile number registered on this website: alert.pace.edu. Find more information about Pace Alerts here. A test message will be sent in the Pace Alert system during the week of September 8.

  • Download the PaceSafe mobile app. The app will send you important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources like severe weather updates, a friend-walk feature, emergency procedures, security contact information, direct dial to 911, and other safety resources.

  • Be aware of how to report an incident at Pace. Pace’s Guardian system is used to receive, track, and manage incident reports and share them with the most appropriate departments within the University. All students, staff, and faculty can use the Guardian reporting form to share experiences, concerns, or issues with the University.

  • Become familiar with emergency procedures at Pace. As you enter your buildings, become familiar with emergency procedures, the locations of the exit stairwells, and assembly areas used in an emergency evacuation. Emergency procedures can also be found in the PaceSafe app.

  • The 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available on the Safety and Security website. Required by federal law, the report includes information on campus security, personal safety, crime prevention, fire safety, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures, and more. It also provides crime statistics for the past three years on incidents occurring on campus, in certain off-campus properties owned or controlled by Pace University, and on nearby public property. To request a printed copy, contact the Safety and Security Department at (914) 773-3700.

  • Become familiar with the Hazing Policy and Procedure at Pace. Hazing is abusive, degrading, psychologically damaging, and may be life-threatening. It is unacceptable in all forms and has no place in the Pace University community. Student groups, organizations, and athletic teams are important contributors to a vibrant and positive campus experience and are expected to act in accordance with the Guiding Principles of Conduct and to treat others with respect.

  • Read through the updated Policy on Assembly, Demonstrations, and Civil Discourse Activities. As a center for inquiry in the search for knowledge and insight, open speech and peaceful assembly have a legitimate place at the University. It’s critical that you familiarize yourself with Pace’s policy on Assembly, Demonstrations, and Civil Discourse Activities.

  • Parking permits are required for the Pleasantville and Haub Law campuses. We are moving away from exterior vehicle sticker permits to interior hang tag permits for all authorized campus parking. All students, faculty, and staff on the Westchester campuses must display a valid parking permit or temporary hang tag and are obligated to adhere to the University’s parking regulations at all times while on campus. If you have not done so already, please log into the Pace Parking Portal to add/update your vehicle details and request an updated parking permit. The portal will reopen on September 8. After you receive your new hang tag permit, remove your exterior permit sticker as it will expire on October 31, 2025.

  • Be aware of scams involving a stranger who asks for donations using Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle. Scammers may approach you asking for donations through Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle. They might claim they didn’t receive your payment and ask to borrow your phone, then use it to transfer large sums from your bank account. Never give your phone to someone you don’t know. If you are asked to send money or gift cards by an unknown person, contact local police or Pace Security immediately.

  • Finally, as is our annual practice, individuals will be assigned an Emergency Management Training Module: Active Shooter Awareness through our Safe Colleges learning management system. Completion of this training is required. Everyone plays an integral role in mitigating the impact of an active threat. Emergency Management aims to enhance preparedness through in-person and online training geared to help you prepare for threats to our community.

The safety of all members of the Pace Community remains our highest priority, and if you have questions about this or other safety resources, please email security@pace.edu. Thank you for your continued cooperation in our efforts to ensure the safety of the Pace Community.

Sincerely
