Small But Mighty:

A Family’s Week of Service and Their Impact in Mexico

It's nearly impossible to capture a week full of impactful experiences in just a one-minute video, but our summer group, though small, was mighty. A dedicated family from Maryland joined us, bringing along their two young children to serve.

During their time in Mexico, they were blessed to participate in several meaningful service projects. They created care packages for families living in the hills, prepared a large care package for a small free daycare, and provided Blessing Bags filled with food necessities for families whose children attend the daycare. We blessed the daycare with a Vacation Bible School curriculum and Bibles for the older children, and gifted jump ropes and blankets for all the kids. Additionally, they helped a local school celebrate the end of the year by distributing Blessing Goodie Bags for each child. The team cooked and served meals at the Comedor, and provided them with a large care package. These are just a few of the amazing service projects this family had the opportunity to participate in.

At Blessing Bags, our mission goes beyond serving families in Mexico; we aim to create opportunities for families to come together and serve in a safe, family-friendly setting where children of all ages can engage in mission work. We are simply a resource to help families in their efforts to grow a servant’s heart in each of their children.

Thank you, Summer Team, for all your hard work! We hope to see you again next year. To learn more about our short-term mission trips click HERE! We hope to see you soon!

Legacy Project:

Blessing Bags Event and Fundraiser

We are blessed that most families who come down to serve with us return to serve again. It's hard to resist coming back to serve again when you see the positive impact being made, both in Mexico and within their own families. One such family is the Jeantet family. They have not only served with us for two consecutive springs but have also raised additional funds each time to support extra projects, such as feeding families at Comedor Genesis and building a new roof for the Comedor.

Many people have inquired about our plans to organize a building project fundraiser for our future mission center in Mexico. While this is a fantastic idea, you may have noticed that fundraising is not usually our method. However, we trust that God will provide for all our needs according to His riches. We are incredibly thankful to the Jeantet family for stepping up to host a fundraiser and Blessing Bag packing event in Northern Virginia.

In just over a week, Jennifer and Michael will be flying to Virginia to join other families in assembling care packages, sharing about the work God is doing in Mexico, and informing others about how they can help be a part of our legacy project (Blessing Bags International's future mission center.) This mission center will be a place where families from across the U.S. and Canada can come to serve with their children, making a lasting impact both in their own families and in the impoverished communities here in Mexico.

If you live in Northern Virginia or the surrounding area, we hope you’ll join us on Saturday, August 24th for our second-ever fundraiser event. There will be finger foods, games, a silent auction, a Q&A session, and, of course, time to pack Acts of Kindness Blessing Bags to take home and share in your own community, spreading God’s love while teaching your children to love God and their neighbors. Please RSVP HERE!

One easy way you can serve is by inviting friends and family who may not have heard of our ministry but might be looking for ways to serve with their own children. Below is an invitation and evite link to help spread the word. We encourage everyone to invite at least two or three families they know!

If you’re not in the Northern Virginia area, don’t worry—you can still be part of the fun. Next month, we’ll be hosting our first online fundraiser, where you can participate in interactive games, a live Q&A session, and more! For more info visit our Facebook event HERE!

We hope you’ll join us for one or both of these exciting events. We’re so excited to see all that God is going to do. For all those planning to attend—from the bottom of our hearts, Muchas Gracias!
