'Super Friday' at Ridgeland Elementary

A Fabulous Friday at Ridgeland Elementary School, Friday April 19, 2024!!

Coach Fisher & Coach Deloach received the official flag!! The flag is in recognition of supporting the American Heart Association!! RES raised $1,200 for the American Heart Association.

Fourth graders had the opportunity to attend four outreach programs from the Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head Island, SC. Students attended Camp Dig It, which introduced them to archaeology with a professional archaeologist by having them excavate and identify artifacts.

The Native Americans program gave students an opportunity to imagine life 4,000 years ago and create a replica pinch pot using clay. In All About Owls, students learned about different types of owls, including the distinctive sounds they make, and gained a better understanding of the undigestible items owls expel by dissecting owl pellets.

The Sea Turtle Life program had students exploring sea turtles from egg to adulthood and how to protect them during nesting season.

Congratulations to our very own BJ Ace, Palmetto Finest Winner! It is a prestigious honor. Our scholars are privileged to have the opportunity to attend this top-notch institution.

Congratulations to Dr. Lovecchio, BJ ACE leadership, faculty, staff and students. We are proud of this joint partnership with Beaufort and Jasper County School Districts. Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence (BJACE) underwent an intensive application process requiring self-evaluation, peer review, and two on-site examinations.

The application and visits verified evidence of exceptional student achievement, instructional programs, professional learning communities, and school culture.

"It is such a great accomplishment for BJACE to be named 2024 Palmetto's Finest. Congratulations to all who work tirelessly to ensure that the scholars of Beaufort and Jasper are afforded an opportunity to embrace the many academic career pathways that lead to endless career opportunities. Dr. Anderson to Deliver the 2024 Commencement Address at the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL)

JCAP Hosted it's Annual Career Day!

On April 17, 2024, JCAP hosted its annual career day. Our scholars received career information and advice from business management, corrections, postal services, and transportation/logistics professionals.

"Our students greatly benefited from the exposure to various career opportunities available within the community. Our guest speakers' presentations were met with great interest and enthusiasm from the students. Upon their arrival at JCAP, the students were given an interest survey to determine their desired career paths. We utilized this survey data to select our guest speakers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our speakers for their generous contribution of time. At JCSD, we highly value community members who invest in our children. We want to express our special thanks to Ms. D. Richardson, Ms. S. Wright, and Ms. B Lane for their invaluable assistance in facilitating the program."
