Canine Carnival

Enjoy a carnival designed for your best friend of the canine variety! Participate in games and activities for your dog, visit pet friendly vendors, enter a raffle, take a photo with your dog, and more!
All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times for this event. Dogs must be wearing a current rabies tag. This is a Village of Palatine Ordinance and is therefore a requirement to participate in this event.

Petapalooza Family Fun Day Event

The North Fork Animal Welfare League hosts its summer family fun day and adoption event (adoption fees waived all weekend) on July 28.This year's open house is extra awesome, because it's the League's 55th Anniversary. As such, they're inviting previous adopters to bring their well behaved canines be part of a giant photograph that will be prominently displayed. The event will also feature North Fork School for Dogs' trainer doing agility demonstrations, a NFAWL trainer doing basic commands/relationship-based training demonstrations and a whole bunch of stuff for the kids. There will be craft-making with Penny Kelley (Teen Dept/Southold Library), face painting with Susan Ellsworth, along with treats for people and pets (vendors/booths), cool clothing/jewelry for sale to benefit the animals and shelter tours. Get stoked! It's time for the most adorable surf event of the year! The one and only original Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition, where fearless surFUR dogs will jump on their boards and hang 20! Check out the action adjacent to the Imperial Beach Pier, where more than 60 dogs are expected to participate in this family-friendly event, which raises funds for the San Diego Humane Society. Besides the surfing action, there will be dog adoptions, exhibitors, food trucks and a beer garden and more. For more info

Chimney Sweep, a young lady at just under 3 years ago, came to Pets Alive as a one-month old kitten. She was found on a roof by a cable service operator. She's friendly to everyone but often gets overlooked when visitors come to Pets Alive. She gets along with other cats and loves to just lounge around, checking things out the window. Gilbo is a super sweet dog who is very shy at first. Originally from Puerto Rico, Gilbo and his sister Annie came to SASF shy and scared.
