Perfetti Van Melle North America, makers of candies such as Airheads, Mentos, and more, announced a donation of more than 23,000 pounds of candy to God's Food Pantry in Winchester. Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Ryan Quarles spoke about the importance of adding an element of sweet surprise to food insecure families when they receive food bank donations.
"Whether you are on the farm, on the road, or in the home, please take that extra step to protect yourself and those around you," Commissioner Quarles said.
Kentucky grew and sold more than $51 million worth of floriculture crops, based on the 2017 Census of Agriculture.
