With That Moon Language Admit something: Everyone you see, you say to them, "love me." Of course you do not do this out loud; Otherwise, Someone would call the cops. Still though, think about this, This great pull in us To connect. Why not become the one Who lives with a full moon in each eye That is always saying, With that sweet moon Language, What every other eye in this world Is dying to Hear. -Hafiz Spring Greetings to you from the new moon/solar eclipse/equinox rocket ship evolving moment, Feeling the change in the air...the ways in which we are being forcibly awakened to the crisis at hand... the ways that the natural world comes closer to a tipping point beyond our control...and the subsequent intensity of our responses as we collectively feel the effects of our choices. Waking up is hard and challenging, beautiful and necessary. Acknowledging the places where we are still playing out old wounds and victim stories and alchemically transmuting those into wisdom...this is what is called for and the place we must start. Simultaneously, can we begin to truly invest in creative solutions and collaborative structures that joyfully invite us to live differently than the divisive and alienating dominant culture that seduces us at every turn? I am often carrying both hope and depair about these times but I am dedicated to bringing as much extraordinary life into the everyday as I possibly can. And I am soooo grateful for the journey. The journey has just brought me back to the States after magical times in New Zealand and Australia working/playing with the incredible Wanderlust NZ/AUS teams and the Off The Mat, Into the World NZ/AUS teams. Also had a weekend of workshops at Bliss in Jakarta and a deep return to Bali after 20 something years. I had originally visited Bali because I had read that there was no separation between ART and LIFE there and I wanted to feel that for myself. It is still very present there, roling beneath the commercialization/gentrification that is on the surface. Upon my return I offered a Voice of Change activation to the incredible Muse Women's Conference in Bend Oregon which included talks by some inspiring women like Lynn Twist, Lauren Fleshman, Myrlie Evers Williams and many more...we even got a video visit from Gloria Steinem!!! One of the things that I love the most about traveling as much as I do is that I get to feel the incredible power of the land/bodies of water/plants and animals in different parts of the world. In some places, the land absolutely sings to me!!! This month I will be in LA for some OTM meetings, recording sessions and to attend the Sister Giant conference. Then onto NYC and back to LA for Yogaworks Teacher Trainings and SF for a panel on sound healing at the New Living Expo. Also upcoming: The very first Voice of Change online training via OTM and a weekend at Downward Dog in Toronto! Finally, please see below my article about FGM that was published in Elephant Journal and consider coming with me to Kenya in October to work with some incredible organizations who are creating safe houses and alternative rites of passage for girls to become women so that they do not have to experience this horrific ordeal. Blessings and love, Suzanne |
