Feeling stuck? Me too.
There's a lot to navigate these days. The saying goes, "How do you eat an elephant?...one bite at a time". That's great advice, but I can't even bring myself to look at the elephant let alone take a nibble. While I wait for my appetite to build I will focus on what I can control. Me.
Self-control is not something you decide to simply turn on. It's not a setting that you swipe right to activate. It's a learned behavior. Learned as in acquired by study, experience, or being taught. Another default setting I will need to pay attention to is patience. Patience and I should probably be prepared to add in a double dose of grace. Grace for myself and grace for others. Because if you're an active reader of these newsletters, you've probably read about how we fail, like all the time. But in my failing, and in the failings of others, you know what we hope for? Learning.
I feel less hungry for assiette d'éléphant (translation: plate of elephant) as I consider all the work I have to do on little 'ol me. Minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day I will move forward. I will learn. I will increase my capacity and hopefully, my appetite for what the future holds.
