Hi Laura.AAHH…September. The kids are back to school, the weather is cooling down, and the leaves will soon be changing. Keep reading to learn about more changes.
As we’ve mentioned previously, the state of Illinois is issuing two rebates to its taxpayers. Click here for more information from the IL Department of Revenue, including how to check the status of your rebate. These rebates are expected to start being issued the week of September 12th.
Student loan forgiveness is another big change we have seen recently. We are processing the information as quickly as it comes in and will share with you as we learn more. If you have not received our most recent email, click here to read it. While the forgiveness process is being worked out, the student loan payment pause has been extended through 12/31/22.
Also in September, 3rd quarter estimated payments are due. If you are a taxpayer who makes estimated payments, be sure to make your 3rd quarter payment on or before September 15th. The best way to ensure those payments get where they need to be in plenty of time is to pay online at Payments | Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov) for payments to the IRS, or to create an account at MyTax Illinois for payments to the IL Department of Revenue.
