"Hey Siri, Play #TripepiSmithLife"
Greetings,
A great thing happened in 2020. Tripepi Smith commissioned a song. And it rules.

Why on earth would we commission a song?

2020 was a tough year. Nicole and I thought it would be fun to try something unique with a creative angle for the team - who didn’t need something to make them smile last year? Also, the bigger our team gets and the more we mature, the more I realize how important sustaining our culture is for building a team. Songs can unite people. After all, it works in fight songs at colleges, marching songs in the military and anthems for nations. Why couldn’t it work for our workplace?

Our song now shows up wherever possible. It is the hold music you hear while you wait for a conference call with us to start. The instrumental version plays as the background music when you call into our toll-free number. Job candidates even hear it while they wait for their virtual interview to begin. No, I haven’t turned it into a ringtone yet, but yes, I plan to get there.

Music influences culture in our society at large, so it makes sense that it can be used to influence your workplace culture. This is where risk management recommends you skip Cardi B as inspiration.

Now let’s have a little fun. Try imagining the lyrics you would write for a song about your organization. What would you write about? What themes would you emphasize? What inside jokes would the team appreciate?

Speaking of culture-building assets, we recently hosted a game night for Team Tripepi Smith. One of the games was for each of the three teams to write a haiku about the firm in under five minutes. The results were nothing short of brilliant:

I love working here
It gives me a lot of cheer
The team is top tier

#TripepiSmithLife
Working remotely ends strife
Be your own work wife

It's an awesome day
