BACC President's Message: That's How We Do It!

This past week we started producing our 2021 Conquer Awards programming. The event will be broadcast on Thursday, January 28 and will announce our Conquer Award Recipients and introduce our new 2021 BACC Leadership.

During production I was honored to hear the stories of courage from our Award recipients: how they responded, reacted and reshaped their businesses to adapt to the pandemic year. We will announce the Award Recipients next week and on January 28 at 5:00 pm you can hear their heartfelt stories of resilience. I encourage you to tune in, it will be rewarding.

You will be inspired by the strength, compassion and unity our community showed during 2020. That's how we do it. That's the character of the Barrington area. We take challenge and hardship in stride, adapt our approach and conquer the obstacles.

For those members who have committed to donate something for our Silent Auction, please be sure we have it in our office by this Wednesday, Jan. 13. Thank you for your generous support!

The Auction will open online next Monday at 9:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. after the Conquer Awards Ceremony. Proceeds support programming that benefits our membership, small business and main street retailers, and funds our annual scholarship awards. The 2021 BACC Scholarship application is available on our website. We award thousands of dollars each spring to students who plan to attend a university, community college, trade school or certification program, as careers are built in many ways. Barrington High School students and Chamber Members' students who attend any school are eligible to apply.
