ISC Bridges Education to Storytelling through

Kids Institute

This month, we’re shining a light on our Kids Institute, where teaching artist David Novak brought science, imagination, and storytelling together on the ISC stage. By embodying famed visionary Buckminster Fuller, Novak invited fifth-grade students to explore curiosity, creativity, and new ways of seeing the world. Take a look inside this unforgettable program we hosted in early November for hundreds of young learners.

Looking Back and Moving Forward with Storyteller Adam Booth

At this year’s National Storytelling Festival, the anticipation for Adam Booth’s boundary-pushing new work, "The Heron's Journey," was so great that the line snaked into the street before showtime. Booth’s innovative blend of story, movement, and paper sculpture captivated audiences and marked a banner year for the West Virginia-based storyteller. Read about Booth's work and then watch "The Heron's Journey" online — it's free! Available until January 1st.
