Go Canada Go!
It is hard to believe that the last time we had the chance to see world class tennis in Toronto and Montreal was almost 2 years ago. With the country gradually opening up, The National Bank Open (formerly known as The Rogers Cup) and live tennis are back in both Toronto and Montreal. Each venue will be welcoming 5,000 visitors daily. While capacity and other restrictions will be in place, it's nonetheless progress!
Toronto will play host to the world’s top players, with Canadians Felix Auger Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov set to prove themselves on home soil in advance of the US Open. We're also hoping to see recently injured Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil who always play their best tennis on the home turf.
In Montreal Bianca Andreescu will be defending her title from 2019, Canadian star Leylah Fernandes will try to solidify her position as one of the most promising players on the WTA Tour and doubles specialist Gaby Dabrowski will be aiming for her first title.
No matter what the results are, it's going to be a great week for Canadian tennis fans. In the interim, let’s wish our Canadian athletes the best in Tokyo!
